Just to clarify, I do think he has all the tools to be a great player and I think the last game could be the eye opener he needed. Not only pass the ball but if he wants to be a consistent player he needs to get his team in sync 1st and foremost. Coach showed him that if he can't he has others on the team that can. Great move IMO.
I made a mistake in forgetting westbrook's basketball iq is close to his jersey number. this dude just doesnt get it. great athlete, not so great point guard. and i dont think he ever will be. there were 12 times in the last game where no one else touched the ball except him on offensive possessions. I think it was 12. he played 2 guard in college so he can learn but i think great point guards are born and not taught. hell, that barea dude is awesome and kidd is killing it. experience over athleticism wins again. barea looks like a miniature chris paul in the way he moves and distributes.
Westbrook's whole game is take you off the dribble, drive the basket, and throw it somewhere near the rim. Only thing that kept the Thunder in the game Saturday night was the zebras. You breathe on the Thunder and it's a foul, but somehow Collison is now a defensive guru. Easy to defend a guy when you beat him the hell up. I've seen people get arrested for less. Come on Mavs, let's Geaux!!!!!!
You know all the talk in game 1 was about Dirk getting to the line 24 times. The Thunder have been to the line 112 times. The Mavs have been to the line 78 times. OKC needs James Harden to have big games in order for them to win. They can't win with just Westbrook and Durant scoring, because it seems that it's hard to have Westbrook and Durant bring their A-game every night. I said it before though, think of the bench for the Mavs. JJ Barea, Jason Terry, Peja, Brewer, and Haywood. That's an eastern conference 8th seed. Marion is playing the best ball he has played since Phoenix, Chandler, well everyone who watched the Hornets knows what Chandler brings, defense and boards, Dirk is going to get his in the 4th, and Kidd has found the fountain of youth. Deshawn Stevenson is so thugnificent, it's awesome. Give Westbrook a few more years in the league to get his game a little more controlled, and he is going to be scary, but who knows the Thunder could still win this series, but I just don't think they will.
they cant win when durant doesnt touch the ball in crunch time. they are saying he should demand it. no, westbrook simply has to find him but he would rather do it alone. he will never be a great pg imo, even though some consider him a top 5 pg in the league already. i dont see it. will be interested to see if there will be more fouls called tonight after carlisle did his best zen master impression talking to the refs through the media about dirk getting killed. gotta love collison though. he does what it takes. these refs are letting them play like its the 80s. its been entertaining. choke factor of dirk cant come into play until game 6 or 7 so he better hope they wrap it up beforehand.
Yeah, I would be praising Collison if he played for Dallas, but he doesn't so he is a dirty player. :yelwink2: Dirk won't choke, he actually has a supporting cast this time around. Not nearly as much pressure on him to do everything. He gets killed for no reason, hell Kobe couldn't still hasn't proven he can win without extremely skilled help. Between Shaq and Pau, you got 1 finals loss, 1 DNQ for the playoffs, and 2 first round exits in a row. I'm ready for tonight, can't freakin wait....
Damn Bosh... Guess you wanted to make a statement last night. If Lebron and Bosh do that one-two game every game no one will stop them.
Awwwww yeah. Trail the whole game, go down by 15 with 5 minutes left, come back to tie the game on the last 2 points in regulation and win in Overtime. Man Dirk is the man, Matrix played great defense, as did Kidd. What a f'n game. Dirk, scored 40 with Nick Collision (yes i meant to spell it that way) fouling the crap out of him. The Thunder just folded when James bin Harden fouled out. Thought it was funny that right after Durant did the championship belt celebration like Aaron Rogers does, the Mavs went on a 28-6 run. This team is amazing.
