I can just say for a fact that their was some mis-communication and some coaches at Ouachita may feel that the strop and west monroe get the preferential treatment. Some coaches at the O like Saban and think he is better than what the public does. Their logic is this: How can you not offer a player of this caliber for any reason? Doesn't make any sense. They feel he is better than any linebacker-running back out there and they have just cause just like LSU coaches do. The kid is a great running back and he is only considered an athlete because he is such a great one, PHYSICALLY. His build is what you like in a lot of positions. When he was a freshman he played receiver, running back, linebacker. His sophmore year he played linebacker for 3 or 4 games and then moved to running back and played there ever since. My feeling is it has to do with the love for Bastrop and West Monroe for players they don't feel are as good as Conner or Blakes, yet Saban wants these guys bad. Just my take, that is it.
Re: Montrell Conner is a Tiger! any word on our position on Lacy? id like to think we are really after him. when watching the video of conner, even before i knew he wasnt recruited as a RB, I was going to say he looks pretty strange as a running back. something very awkward about the kid which makes it hard to see him as a top athlete. makes me wonder if he can excel at linebacker.
Re: Montrell Conner is a Tiger! I think our position is that 1. he probably won't qualify and 2. he's got some other issues, so we won't be offering him a scholarship.
