Re: Montrell Conner is a Tiger! TC, I went to the rant to read what was going on in their recruiting forum and found this posted by LordoftheManor, a member there. Shows our needs and why we can't take EVERY recruit who's LSU material. In fact, some good recruits from Louisiana will not be able to get an offer from LSU with our limited scholarships. It will not matter though, as long as OUR needs are met.
Re: Montrell Conner is a Tiger! Sorry, but I have seen this kid up close and personal and also on the field and he is every bit as good as Ford, Lacy, anybody. He doesn't tire out during a game and can take over a game when he wants to. He is physically on another level than any player in this class. He is a bodybuilder out there with incredible speed. People talk about how Ford benches this and that, but they never say how Connor benches 400 lbs and weighs 220+ now(which the News-Star actually said 230 2 weeks ago in the paper). This kid is a no-brainer if there ever was one. It would be a HUGE loss if they didn't get him.
Re: Montrell Conner is a Tiger! Maybe so, but my opinion is still that, just as good, not necessarily better, but just as good. I know the facts are this he is: bigger, faster, stronger, and has never wares down. Against Captain Shreve and Huntington in which he had 300+ and 250+ in the 2 games, at the end of the game he was still running full strength while the other teams defense was puffing for air. I can promise this: if he doesn't go to LSU and he goes to another school which is probably Bama or Clemson he will do just as well. He will succeed wherever he goes, it doesn't matter, he's that good. He would be the biggest loss LSU has had in terms of quality besides Joe McKnight.
Re: Montrell Conner is a Tiger! Also, explain to me the logic in passing an offer to Barkevious Mingo who has played football for less than 1 year and is a "super project" in the making, but doesn't extend an offer to the #3 ranked athlete in the country as of right now???? A kid who is ready to play SEC ball right now. Don't say because Mingo plays linebacker because it won't fly. Mingo never played any organized ball until last year at West Monroe. Conner has played both Linebacker as a sophmore in high school at Ouachita and running back. Doesn't make any sense whatsoever. I saw both play last year and Mingo is nowhere near ready to step on the field as an SEC player. He can't stop the run because he is way too small and he is too tall at 6'5. He doesn't come off of blocks at all either. He is just a fast guy that Alridge uses to perfection on 3rd and long blitz packages. But, like you say, they know best right????
Re: Montrell Conner is a Tiger! Most colleges see him as a LB. If he was as good of a RB as Ford, he would project as a RB... Maybe, but there are a lot of other factors that go into being a great RB. The guy is an awesome athlete, and I think he will be successful wherever he goes, but LSU may get another recruit who will be even more successful. We can't take them all. I wouldn't exactly call it a "loss" if he doesn't have an offer... All this being said, the coaches are still evaluating him. He may very well get an offer.
Re: Montrell Conner is a Tiger! Grab paper bag. Gather the opening and hold to mouth. Breathe in. Breathe out. Watch the bag fill......and fall.......fill.....and fall.
Re: Montrell Conner is a Tiger! True, you have a valid point, it wouldn't be a loss if we don't offer. I'm just like you, I hope he gets one. I think he will in the end, but I hope it doesn't end up being too late. The coaches know what is best, I agree 100%! Just ventingo: :LSU231:
