  1. Re: RB Bryce Brown

In fairness to Scott its pretty tough to run when your expected to be the offense just about every game. Until Jefferson got in most teams were daring Lee to throw against them.

But I agree with you on some things. If Scott goes down we dont have anyone else to rely on. Keiland and Murphy have both shown flashes but havent proven they can handle the job as Scott has.
  2. Re: RB Bryce Brown

The epic failure part of your post was saying he was an ok back who had an ok year. Me agreeing with you that he was shut down in 3 games is just honesty. That still doesnt diminish his year. When teams stacked the box against you and dare your QB to throw the ball, your not going to run for 100 yards in every game. Im sure you understand that, because of your great football mind:D

my point was Richardson is probably looking for PT right away, I dont think he gets that at LSU. HE would play at Miami before he plays at LSU.
  3. Re: RB Bryce Brown

Thanks for the complement. That was big of you.

For the record, I never said he was an okay back. I said he had an okay year. In retrospect, you're right, that isn't reality. He had a very good year. My point was we are not deep at RB. A guy comes in and can play, he will get pt and could be one injury away from being a starter. I think you would even agree that statement is true.
  4. Re: RB Bryce Brown

I agree with you, but you were being a smart azz about my initial post, which really doesnt surprise me because I think thats you sometimes, which I actually like your personality alot. I think I was asking a question 1. Do we really want this guy, I know how good he is but the circus bothers me.
    2. Does it hurt us with Lache, I mean we dont necessarily need Brown in this class, I understand the point about injuries. But Williams showed some flashes at the end of the season and the bowl game. Murphy is capable in certain situations, then Ridely seems like a hungry lion to me.

So do we risk taking this guy right now and then taking risk later with Lache, not saying he is a lock, but an LSU lean. The depth could scare him away.
On the other hand we lose Scott and Williams next year and only have Murphy who could switch to wideout, Ridely and Ford.
    Just saying, my friend.
  5. Re: RB Bryce Brown

Well that's been my point all along and where we disagree. I feel like we desperately needed two backs in this class. And I don't see this kid as being as big an issue as everyone else does. Remember, Terrell Pryor last year flirted with teams late and didn't make a decision on nsd. Not saying it is exactly the same but these guys typically enjoy their recruiting then get their asses handed to them and get disciplined when they get to college. Don't forget, this guy was the #1 recruit on Rivals. He was ahead of Randle and Shepard. How do you not go after this guy?
  6. Re: RB Bryce Brown

Don't forget, Lache may not be an every down back. He is fast, but thin and light.

its on Si.com as well...maybe Im getting greedy but I definitely wouldnt mind him signing here
  8. Re: RB Bryce Brown

One thing I have learned in the Military is take what you can, when you can. One thing we have learned just in this past recruiting battle, nothing is certain. If we can get him, we better knab him up or he might be running over our guys at a different school.
  9. Re: RB Bryce Brown

I'm sure he talked to Les or he would lose all credibility. However, I don't think BB is seriously interested in us.
