For comparison, here are the LSU commits in the current Rivals100: 8. Shepard, QB -- Called the most dynamic offensive playmaker in Houston since Vince Young. 22. Davenport, DT -- Recorded 120 tackles, 20 TFLs and 18 sacks as a junior. 42. Faulk, OL -- Destroyed anybody in his path at the LSU camp, showing he's an elite line prospect. 46. Jackson, DB -- Big mover: Recorded 93 tackles, five interceptions and 15 pass breakups as a junior. Senior film shows more of the same, which is why he saw a nice move up the charts. 74. Ford, RB -- Big mover: The numbers speak for themselves: 1,384 yards on 139 carries through six games. That’s why Ford has climbed into the Rivals100, as he was a good early get for LSU. [when Rivals goes back to see that Ford rushed for 2,447 yards after ten games, I imagine that they will continue to be impressed with Ford, who has broken the single-season school rushing record at Leesville High that was set by Cecil Collins] 5% of the Rivals100 are listed as LSU commits. Kind of cool to see it presented that way. It will be interesting to see how we finish (obviously, should be even better).
Quote from Dandy Don today, seems promising to me, but I dont know how much weight it holds. However, we need Linebackers.
I heard the Bell stuff was put to rest as well but expect to see rumors continue to flow on his situation.
I can tell you this. The local gumps I know are not near as giddy about Bell this week. It doesnt sound like his visit for the Aub game was that positive.
I spoke to a connection with Bama, and while he may be biased, they seem to think that Bell and Saban have an agreement that Bell will not "decommit", but will announce on or around signing day that he is switching committments to Bama. Sounds a little underhanded to me, so I guess we will just have to see. We need to hang on to Bell, mainly just on principle. :geaux:
Ah yes, the inevitable "secret commit", which is such a great secret, random guys are posting it on the internet days later. What are the odds that Miles knows nothing about it if it is being discussed on a msg board? Not to bash on you or your bama friend, but I always see these comments made and they always turn out to be bs. If Bell really wants to go to bama, it is likely that LSU will suspend their efforts far in advance of signing day.
More Rumors from Dandy Don: If we get these 3 guys, we will have the number 1 class with Lotson and a big time linebacker (Mingo) I have read that we have about 6 spots left, are these the primary targets for these spots?
