It's simple and not necessary to be following 2009 prospects to know that our coaches are great at spotting talent and recruit based on what they see. There are a lot of talented players who will be bumped up cause not only have some not been evalutated, there are some who may not have even been discovered yet. They don't all get the luxury of going to camps and getting exposure. Another lil secret, I'll let you in on is our coaches don't look at Rivals/Scout ratings then go out and recruit. Don't forget, Hester was a two star, Dorsey was a four. The following players on LSU’s team last year were all three star recruits: Brandon LaFell, Tyson Jackson Chevis Jackson, Jonathon Zenon, Trindon Holliday, Jacob Cutrera, Lyle Hitt, Curtis Taylor, Ciron Black, Brett Helms, Shawn Jordan, Harry Coleman, Quinn Johnson, Danny McCray. There are some on this list who still have questions but, obviously, also some who were huge contributers...don't be star-struck.
The lowest a recruit can be rated is a 2*. A 1* means they have not been evaluated and if they do not have a star that means they were recruited and the site did not know anything about the guy. As of right now Rivals only has the top 100 rated -- thus only those guys receiving stars. Some four stars in the top 30 will become 5*'s as well. Once camps from this spring and earlier summer are finished thousands of other rankings will come out.
Whats the story on DE Randall Dent,6-4, 270 of Grand Prairie, Texas? Scout shows him with High intrest in LSU but no offer.. Is he worthy? Also, Alex Okafor - no offer? are we gonna recruit any DE's this year?
