Straight up.... I had the privelege of catching the Rayville/Bastrop game last year and both Kenny Bell and Reuben Randle were incredible. Kenny Bell had a long touchdown reception where he just burnt the DB and made it look too easy. Tolliver was non-existant, but it was because they were doubling him and leaving both Bell and Martinez open. Trust me Abracus Martinez the other receiver that will be a senior this year at Rayville is getting mad props and is 6'3 205' just not the all around athlete that Randle, Bell and Tolliver are. Martinez had a long touchdown pass against Bastrop as well. Man, HOW IN THE WORL RAYVILLE LOST IN THE PLAYOFFS WITH THAT RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF SPEED AND TALENT BLOWS MY MIND! Anyways, Randle had a long touchdown pass too and made it look textbook. I don't think, well, I know I have never seen that much talent on one field and speed ever.

Look out for Miss St commit Chris Garrett at QB. We offered him a scholarship this weekend.

Miles compared him very favorably to JaMarcus Russell.

Just watched some Rivals film. Seems like a pro-style QB, 6-4, 220, not fast, but seemed reasonably mobile on film. Rivals didn't have him rated, but he's in the Top 100 QBs list for them, I think.

    Haven't checked Scout.

Interesting that we would be stealing such an early commit from MSU.

    Waddaya know about this, CP?

    Hmmm.

Most of the tape I watched was outlet passes, some scrambling and throwing on the run. I didn't see anything to directly compare him to JR. Wonder what exactly CLM sees in the comparison?

I haven't watched any QB's film yet because I'm waiting to get a feel for which ones are legitimate possibilities.

As for Garrett, I think his dad or somebody went to Miss St, which is why he committed there. He also probably didn't realize he would get big time offers from schools like LSU.

If our coaches really want him, I have to assume we'd be able to pull him from Miss St regardless of family connections.

I just watched one, he seems to have pin point accuracy. Puts it ON THE MONEY.

Gotta like his size, too. Is Mississippi an under-analyzed market, so to speak? How does a kid with his size, and evidently enough talent for CLM to speak JR's name in comparison, not have offers from other upper tier programs? Rivals shows MSU, Ole Miss, and Colorado.

Ref Garrett: Just read that he was initially told he was the only QB they were interested in. But he found out over the internet that they are recruiting at least one more QB. He says he's not bitter, but he mentions it, so I'm thinking he's a little miffed about it.

Maybe that's the inroad the coaching staff is pursuing.
