three hours? lil diamond dry and they'd be good to go. after all, works great on pitchers mounds. my know nothing contribution to the thread. im done now.
It didn't stop raining...but that is null and void now. The decision was made and it is done, it would have been great to have it to day though! Cool, breezy weather and not a cloud in the sky! Oh and Saturday was perfect also!
The only way that race could've been completed is if they would've finished it Monday. Besides the fact that it would take all the "Flash" out of the spectacle that is the Daytona 500, think about all the teams Hauler drivers. They would've had to leave Monday afternoon to go back up to North Carolina, then drive all the way to California and make it there before Thursday. That would've been torture. I think they made the right call on the rainout.
If it wasn't for the Cali tracks, and TV, the D500 and a lot of other East Coast races would have started at thier normal time (noon), and rain would not have been a problem. NA$CAR has moved back way too many start times to try to gain West Coast fans. They can't even sell all of tickets to the West Coast tracks. Please, please, give us our traditional start times back.
Werd Ford rules this joint. Why I do not know but I am sure it is how they time their fuel runs cause when every one else is topping off at 20 to go, there is a handful of Fords finishing in the top 15. JJ is pretty strong and the shrub has found his line for sure. You can be 18 seconds back from the leader and still be on the lead lap. Skys are clear this year so, whatever. Sleeper pick for this weekend' Mark Martin. Otherenthat, take the kids to a movie cause there is nothing to see here folks. It is just a miserable race to watch on TV and that is 10 times better then at the track. All we can do is look forward to a pretty kick ass race in Vegas next week. If you are one of the maybe three that watch this one, report in and remind us why it is a waste of air time. Thanks. :thumb:
Hammer, meet nail. Here is a dead on article about the two races at California which summarizes my every thought about the facility altogether. http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar/news...YF?slug=jf-fontana-022009&prov=yhoo&type=lgns And so, I ask the question. What race would you like to see replace the February Fontana race? My choice, you gotta think weather so I would move Phoenix up and use the April open date and add another Kansas date or give Kentucky the shot they are gonna get sooner or later. If the decision were mine I would dump a couple of repeat tracks like Pocono and Michigan in addition to Fontana. Vegas deserves a second date IMO. So if you had a choice to replace Fontana, where?
I know, seriously!!! I can promise you towards the middle to end of the season I will not stay up late for these races, I just have to get the excitement out of me right now...
