Decided to track engines that pop in both practice and races. Just to see if there are any bad habits that play into high RPM tracks. I noticed at Fontana that engines were blowing by way of tuning for fuel mileage which is something to watch as this season goes. So here are those that have blowed up: Daytona/ Shootout/ Duels 43 Reed Sorenson 31 Jeff Burton 39 Ryan Newman Fontana 83 Brian Vickers 88 Dale Earnhardt Jr. 5 Mark Martin 8 Aric Almirola 84 Scott Speed 51 David Starr
Batty is officially phucked. By mid season she is back in the kitchen, Kcal right behind. Batty, you throwing in the towel or are you gonna hang on to it? It's is time for VEGAS. Man that place is fast and for being half a mile shorter then Fontana, it has the same speeds. Progressive banking at 20 degrees makes this place run like Atlanta. Ford has a strangle hold on this place but them Hendrick Chevy's are pretty sporty here too. Oh look: Michael Waltrip is 7thin points! Holy bananas batman, and so his team dog Reutiman now 10th in points. I wonder how long this is gonna last? Oh hell, there goes Waltrip runnin 15th in practice right now. SMOKE is 4th in points and soooooo, I wouldn't hold my breath but hommie is runnin pretty fine. Team mate, not so fine. Biggest running surprise thus far, Kurt Busch in the blue deuce. Didn't I dog on Dodges a ways back? Plenty of time to blow this but Dodge DID get a new nose this year and it seems to be paying off, just a little. Both Busch's are from Vegas, just sayin. Jr, Jr, Jr... Lookin like Doo Doo dood. Yes sir, it's just a damn shame. The entire state of Alabama is preparing to move on account of Jr's poor performance. I ain't writing him off, far from it but DAMN, bout nothing to see here folks... Matt Kenseth, earnings in just two races $1.9 mil. Next dude in line is at $648,861. That rain departure in Daytona sure put up some kind of scratch. Oh, Fontana almost sold out!!! Geaux figure...
Vegas Anybody see the problem with this list??? 18 Shrub 00 David Reutiman 82 Scott Speed 83 Brian Vickers 47 Marcos Ambrose
Wow, good call, fact is that is a great call. Wont happen in February but I can see some flopping around to make it happen mid-spring. A ton of work has been put into "The Rock" and with already some of the best racing ever, the place has been restored to better then ever before. Gotta get away from all of these cookie cutters.
Engines blown Daytona/ Shootout/ Duels 43 Reed Sorenson 31 Jeff Burton 39 Ryan Newman Fontana 83 Brian Vickers 88 Dale Earnhardt Jr. 5 Mark Martin 8 Aric Almirola 84 Scott Speed 51 David Starr Vegas 18 Shrub 00 David Reutiman 82 Scott Speed 83 Brian Vickers 47 Marcos Ambrose 17 Matt Kenseth 6 David Regan 99 Carl Edwards 5 Mark Martin 37 Todd Bodine 2 Kurt Busch limping in with a weak engine but a finish none-the-less. Good Race cept all the engine problems. To bad for Smoke, he ran well today. Joey Logano with a top 15. Gordon with a top 6 despite a blowed up left front. JJ, not so lucky. Bobby with a top 5, BOBBAY! Carl Edwards popping an engine with 1 to go. :nope: Geaux's that way sometimes I guess.
That sucked. I have a running bet with a guy at work. I have Edwards and he has Jeff Gordon. Whoever finishes ahead owes the other a Coke. I'm down 3 to zip. I thought this was my turn.
Just found this thread, but Im a big NASCAR fan so I finally have a place where other people follow it haha. It was a good race today for the most part, way to many blown engines and other failures. The pit infractions seemed way higher than usual. Good win for Kyle, I dont like his personality but he can flat out drive. My boy Junior finally had a good run and hopefully this will get him going.
Just put it on cruise control for a bit. If Busch can start 43rd and win... I can come from behind to win the league. More proof that hell is freezing over. Petty up there as well?
