Top three LSU WRs by receiving yards over the last four seasons: 2007 LaFell (SO) -- 656 yards Bryd (JR) -- 621 yards Doucet (SR) -- 525 yards TOTAL -- 1802 yards 2006 Bowe (SR) -- 990 yards Davis (SR) -- 836 yards Doucet (JR) -- 772 yards TOTAL -- 2598 yards 2005 Bowe (JR) -- 710 yards Davis (JR) -- 559 yards Doucet (SO) -- 389 yards TOTAL -- 1658 yards 2004 Davis (SO) -- 659 yards Bowe (SO) -- 597 yards Doucet (FR) -- 257 yards TOTAL -- 1513 yards Note how productive the 2006 WR core was in comparison to the rest. Probably had a part to play in why Bowe, Davis and J. Russell all went in the first round that year. If LSU's program trusted our QB and WRs enough to air it out like we did that year, it tells NFL teams that these QB/WRs are something special. Also note that LaFell's production as a sophomore was pretty much the same as Davis and Bowe when they were sophomores, and was better than Doucet as a sophomore. As for Bryd, his production as a junior was better than Davis' production as a junior.
actually i said the same thing before the championship game. its likely hes made half his rep in aj hawk's shadow. i stand by it. hes overrated.
'06 only averaged like 25 more passing yards per game than '07. we just spread the love to more receivers this year.
