I respect McShay a lot, but does he even realize Woods in 3rd on the depth chart going into his senior season? I mean, seriously.
It is pretty obvious he looked at a team with talent and looked at their Rival's ranking, because he obviously didn't talk to a scout.
Al Woods could explode onto the scene and have a tremendous year, but I still have a hard time seeing him picked that high. I personally don't really see him being a first round pick, unless he has a huge year. I think our best bets for first round are Jackson, Johnson, Beckwith, Byrd and Black
No offense, but AL Woods is heading into his Junior season & is fighting for a starting position. There are several other early mock draft sites that have Woods listed either #1 or #2 DT in 2009 or 2010. http://walterfootball.com/draft2009DT.php http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/2009/top-nfl-prospects-for-2009.cfm?pos=DL Look ar #10 http://www.thefootballexpert.com/mockdraft.html
Another little 2009 Draft and some draft notes. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/8086268/On-the-Clock:-15-prospects-for-'09-NFL-Draft 2. Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU: Jackson didn't have the breakout '07 campaign everyone expected, but he showed some real flashes of dominance. He'll be a terror as a senior in '08. At 6-foot-5, 290 pounds, he can come off the edge or be moved inside and play DT. Jackson's not the fastest guy in the world, but with some more work on technique, he could be unstoppable. 13. Herman Johnson, OL, LSU: Johnson's a monster. When he was born, he tipped the scales at 15 pounds, 14 ounces — the largest baby ever born in Louisiana. He's developed nicely. At 6-foot-7, 350 pounds, he'll be one of the larger prospects in the draft, and he could sneak into the top 10 if he has a breakout senior season. King Dunlap, the giant Auburn tackle, had the same situation at this time last year. He was inconsistent, was benched, and fell to the second day of the draft. I don't see that happening with Herman "The House" Johnson.
im gonna guess if he couldnt do it with dorsey hes not going to dominate without him. yeah im calling you out, tj. now prove me wrong. (hides)
Now you just sound like a hater...he may not be a top five pick (i think AJ Hawk going 5 to the pack a couple of years ago might have planted that in the authors head, but he's definitely a top 15, if not top ten pick. lucky to go in the first round is ridiculous. The draft reports indicated he'd be a first rounder this year, but after another year, he'll be lucky not to slide out of the first round? ridiculous
Laurinitis was absolutely exposed in the championship game. I had no idea why people thought so highly of him. Beanie Wells and most other big name Buckeyes were as advertised but Laurinitis didn't seem like a big time talent at all. Extremely average.
