Who said anything about throwing the ball? He is a better RB than TH, so why not play him? Like I said before, he is the best athlete on the team and he doesn't see the field?
Lets see;... He can't throw a pass above the receivers knees, can't throw a screen or swing pass, and can't run the option. That's not the makings of a decent QB
Offense is definately absent so far. Missed catches, bonehead mistakes, an interception to boot. Pray for some adjustments at halftime. I know the field conditions suck, but Penn State isn't having much trouble with it, and if we're as good as most of us believe, we should be able to overcome it:geaux: And for God's sake no more QB option please. It hasn't worked all year, why would it now?
That's what happens when you pass rush with 6 and STILL can't get to the QB. Chavis really held back on the blitzes in the 2nd quarter and I don't blame him, since they've been almost completely ineffective. As for the offense, I've never wanted to see a coaching staff canned as badly as right now.
While I agree that JJ isn't fully developed, it's faulty to place all the blame on him. The Oline doesn't help him at all along with some very dubious playcalling. Other than the one TD pass, the D is playing fine. However, they have been stranded on the field far too long by the offense consistently going three and out. Sidenote: to whomever it was that asked earlier, I haven't seen RS in on a single play. Unfortunately, Crowton has made it painfully clear he intends to run Trinton every single time he enters the game (and there seems to be an amazement that PSU defense looks so good...maybe we could take up fan money to pay Crowton to get the hell out of BR and stay far, far away).
I am thinking we need to start going to short 5-10 yard passes which are easier to catch in these conditions. Having said that, PSU does not seem to be having any problems with the longer passes. Of course if we were covering them better than may not be the case.
