Well I did say he hasnt progressed "much". His progression is apparent against cupcake defenses, in which his pass protection if often flawless, his wideouts have 5 yards or more clearance from the nearest defender, and a running game succeeding in keeping the defenses honest. I would hope he would dominate in the fashion he has this season. But if you go back and look at the last drive against Auburn in 2004 as a freshman vs. this season as a highly experienced junior, you can't help but be disappointed in the fact that he hasn't progressed whatsoever in critical game situations.

Bowe has definitely taken advantage of a clearer vision, but he still not a technically sound receiver. He will need to be to survive the NFL.

So we should base our judgement of how good JaMarcus is on one play/drive?

No we should base it on how well he did against ULL. :nope: :nope:

Compare the NFL scouts in the stands in the ULL game vs the Auburn or Florida games....it would be a 10:1 ratio

And yet you didn't talk about his performance during the entire game. You talked about one play, which was - by all accounts - a huge mistake on his part, but none the less it was one play.

But that's the type of decision on such a play that has the ability to separate him from the rest of the pack as a top notch QB. Instead, it leaves people wondering what could have been. And its happened all too often in the most crucial of moments.

I think you are over-exaggerating how often it happens, and I guess that's all it really comes down to.

How about we agree on JR having a great game vs. Phat Phuck Phulmer and helps us pull out a key victory to get this team back on track?

The NFL Draft unfortunately is less about desire and more about your workouts. There are have been plenty of people without desire to make an NFL roster. The pre-season and training camps separate those people from the ones who really want to be there. HUnger sure helps, but it's not the end all, be all. See Marquis Hill for a recent example with LSU ties.

I reserve the right to change my mind on any of those players simply because a lot can happen between now and then. I mean, look at Marques Colston who prolly didn't even believe himself that he would do this well in the NFL this quickly.

More than one NFL pick has been drafted on his potential, not his current capabilities. There are teams that will draft Russell for his physical ability, figuring that they can coach him to play the game the way they need it. QB's like Delhomme worked for years as an NFL reserve, developing starter skills.
