Ask yourself why you don't see that play run more often. Illegal men downfield. It's very difficult to play action at the goal line for exactly that reason. That's what I mean.
Take off the purple and gold glasses and watch the play again. There was no illegal man downfield. And before you start b!tching about the center laying on his @$$ at the goalline, go watch a replay of almost every pass play in the history of football. That happens all the time (a lineman tossed to the ground by a defender past the line) and is NEVER called. The play was legit, and if Tebow doesn't hop like a retarded frog, nobody ever talks about this play again. It was stupis looking, but not illegal.
I wasn't about to start BITCHING as you presume. However, I DO wear purple and gold glasses. Thanks for your civil tone.
Sorry to presume the b!tching part. It wasn't meant to be aimed at you specifically, but to the smart @$$es (which we all know are out there) that was going to bring that up *cough* tiga *cough*. Not sure if your "civil tone" comment is being serious or sarcastic. If I came off as blunt or harsh, I sincerely apolgize. It's all good brotha. :thumb:
I should have put this behind the statement. Hard to come across correctly when you aren't face to face. I plan to re-look at the play as I believe I still have it on DVR. My recollection, and that is all it was, was that there were lineman quite a bit futher downfield that just across the line. If you watched it recently, I stand corrected. Just an aside, I believe that one play destroyed that game for us. Many would say turnovers, blunders, etc. That's true. But, LSU started off with a bang. Then kind of became demoralized after that play. Anyway, appreciate the apology. Wasn't necessary. I'll try to be more about intent in the future.:thumb:
I looked it up on youtube before posting to be sure I remembered it correctly. The farthest anyone went was right at the goalline, and that was a lineman that looked like he got tossed that way. I think it was a demoralizing play, because once again, a RB or TE managed to get behind the D with noone paying attention. That has bitten the D in the arse a few times now, going back to '03. I think the more demoralizing thing is that they drove the length of the field against a top 5 defense anfter a fumble at the 1. Completely taking away the field postion advantage LSU had at that point.
