Man, tonight was the first night I could say that I found myself making room in my day to sit down and watch a full game, and boy did I pick a good one. If I'm getting fired up about this team, I'd have to think that much of New Orleans and the state is starting to come around too.
I think we may see more local (and hopefully national) interest in the Hornets from here on out, especially after this win and the upcoming All-Star Game at the arena. If I were any other NBA team, I'd be very scared to play the Hornets right now.
They are a fun team to watch, with so many ways to hurt you. They can run, they can score in the half court offense, they can take the game to the hoop and dunk with anyone, or bomb from the outside. Chris Paul is special, David West and Tyson Chandler are two of the most underrated big men in the league. Hopefully tonight's win will start bringing people around and boost the attendance. They should start getting some more national attention as well.
Same here. I've been following them at a distance thinking the winning streak was basically against lesser opponents, but after the blowout win against SA at the Alamodome; it convince me that this team is for real. SA just doesn't lose by +20 at home.
Not sure if you have the Cox Sports channel where you are but just a heads up for those who do. All the remaining games will be shown on COX if they are not on National TV.
Sucks if you live on the north shore, though since they have that Cox Sports dispute up there, the games aren't even being televised there. I tried to put it on NBATV last night out of curiosity, but it said the game wasn't available in my area because of contractual obligations (or in other words: because the game was on Cox Sports). No big deal since Cox Sports has actually gotten better with their presentation of the Hornets in this season alone. And by the way, last night's game was great. I liked that it was up and down and almost like a postseason game. Too bad the game that was on ESPN Classic at the same time last night sucked....
About time this thread started to pick up some steam. Chris Paul will be an All Star and should be the MVP of the first half of the season.
Another great game. Attendance for the Nuggets game: 15,601 Current average attendance (starting 12/1/07; after the Nuggets game): 12,759
