This should be fun. Who do YOU think should lead the baseball Tigers in 2006?

can't wait too long to make a change...just digging the hole deeper. florida got rid of zook and he won. its hard to follow a legend like smoke had to do. it won't be so hard to follow smoke.

    great comparison.....

Smoke left LSU and turned NLU into a contender in their league and they made a regional. LSU has been making regionals and the CWS since he has been head coach.

we, as fans of LSU baseball, were terribly spoiled by the 90s dynasty, and we expect too much. you cannot win a NC every year, nor make the CWS every year........it does not happen. also, you have to admit that Tulane and USL have significantly stepped up their programs and are competing, and taking, recruits from LSU.

LSU is a successful baseball program, even after this loss.

You can accept a descent into mediocrity if you like. I refuse to.

what is your definition of mediocrity?

    a conference championship?
    regional host site?
    #1 seed?
    national ranking?

    just curious.......

I guess with the way you are thinking, we should have fired Saban after the Auburn and Georgia losses last year.

My biggest concern is that next year is going to be a down year (And you can count this year as a down year as well) Since when has LSU had a down year? Or two in a row? Whats going on with recruiting? Or developing players?

Remember in 2000 after we lost to UAB?

Everyone and their mothers wanted Saban gone.

why does everyone want to compare the game of baseball to other lsu sports. it isn't comparable. but if you want to compare them...i think saban's teams after they lost those games early in the year got ALOT BETTER as the season went on. can you same the same for good ole smoke....I THINK NOT.

We've simply been outrecruited by Tulane, Texas, Rice, Ole Miss, Alabama etc.

And please don't use the draft excuse people.
