LSU was in the position that they could pick and choose from among all coaches who are interested in stepping up to a premier program. Well, not anymore. I think Skip needs to go. Not only his ridiculous statements about anything, but Pat Henry gone, Nick Saban gone, Brady still here, why are legends leaving LSU if things are so great? and yes Pokie fell into his lap, he did not find her!

I am still and always will be a fan, and I will support Coach Miles, I just think this whole process was not thought through, rushed, and it is time for Skip to go.

Is this the same coach that lost last year's Cotton Bowl game to the MEAN OLD, OLE MISS TEAM? The same OM team that could not stop the run with a pint of Pepto for each offensive player on the other team?

Yep, and we hired a coach in 2000 that lost badly to a DiNardo coached team in the Indy bowl.

I hope this hire is just as dumb as our last hire! :grin:

And did it ever occur to you, that those "hall of fame coaches" that dance in your mind as possible successors, NOT want to come here? Did you ever think about that??? Probably not.

You (I'm assuming) and I are diehards (at least I know I am) and are biased as to how good LSU is. But I hate to break it to you, buddy...not everyone in this great country thinks we're all that and a bag of chips--and that includes some of your "prestigous coaches".... :dis:

Personally, Miles has my undivided support. He's one of the "good guys" now. Time to stop treating him like an opponent. He's no longer the Oklahoma State coach, and a mere candidate for the coaching vacancy. There is no more vacancy. Les Miles IS THE coach.

One other line of thought. OU has really been on a roll. But they lost the Indy bowl to none other than OLE MISS. Then NO-ONE could beat them for quite a while. Till the LSU Tigers took name and kicked ass. SUPPORT YOUR TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, that was Stoops very first year at OU when they went 7-5 that season. Since then OU has been lights out, losing no more than 2 games a season.

4. Character Issues - He just signed an extension at Oklahoma State this month very similar to Bobby Petrino. Bobby Petrino took a PR beating for this, why not him? Doesn't this reveal a lack of character similar to Petrino?

5. He has an offensive background. I prefer, and most of my friends preferred, a defensive coach, because defense wins championships

6. His team runs a 4-2-5 defensive scheme at Ok. State. Ok. State gave up 33 points to Ohio state who couldn't score itself out of a wet paper bag the entire season.

7. He is a Michigan graduate. If Michigan comes a calling when Carr retires in a couple of years, don't think he wouldn't jump at that job. He would leverage any success at LSU (hopefully) to take the Michigan job. See #4. At least with Saban at least he never was going to leave LSU for another college job.

8. Lack of imagination. I watched three games during OSU's season and in none of them did he or his staff show any imagination on either side of the ball. And I don't mean trick plays, just on overall sense of good gameplanning or timing during the game. I mean OSU was up 35-7 on Texas and choked it away by allowing 49 unanswered points.
