I think our pass D under Pelini will be great. See Nebraska pass and scoring D in 2001. The only weakness I see is maybe in our run D, but only time will tell. We are bringing in alot of players that KNOW how to stop the run. I still think that Pelini was one of the best DC hires Miles could have made. I don't know about Peveto on Special Teams... Dunbar will do well on the Line, may hem up our run D, and he has SEC experience...

We may have one stumble next year, maybe Tenn. or Bama but if we can beat ASU handily, and get a W against Tenn. then we will go undefeated. We will be in Atlanta in '05 and a BCS bowl "Sugar or Rose"

and Les hasnt worried about bringing in guys seemingly bigger than him allowing his ego to take a back seat. something Saban and other coaches would never allow.

Let's just give this new coaching staff all of the time that they need to settle in. There's no need to start talking about championships, wins and losses right now. Let the coaches and the team focus on one game at a time, and support Coach Miles, his coaches, and the whole LSU Tiger football team in 2005, no matter what happens on the field.

I will say this and then shutup about it.

This is just an unbiased outsiders opinion.

Leave it at that. Don't take it as a flame.

If I'm not mistaken, Miles was not the first guy to be offered the job. I can't remember if he was the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th.

Bo Pellini was not the first guy to be offered the DC job. I'm pretty sure he was at least the 3rd, 4th or even later pick.

That being said, you at least have to give the new staff a chance to succeed. Miles seems like a competent coach. Pellini seems like a competent coach. I'm only referring to these two coaches because I'm familiar with both of them.

All in all you could have done better AND you could have done worse as a whole.

I'll give Miles a 70% chance of getting the job done and making you guys happy.

I really don't think or I hope you are not disappointed with Pellini. I hope he does a great job for you. As far as I'm concerned, I wish he was still at Oklahoma. The weird thing about the DC position is why that so many guys before Pellini turned it down. At least that is what my understanding is about the situation.

Like I said earlier at least give them a chance to succeed. Who knows, they might win some national championships.

Miles was decided on, and was offered first... the others were interviews
Pelini was probably the 3rd offered when the Saban grabbed Edwards, Campo probably didn't want to come to college right now, and then there was Pelini...

By the way Peabody... had you been Skip Bertman, who would you have hired... that was available for the positions?

Miles was the first guy offered. And I am happy with Pelini.

Hell if I know who should have been hired. All my daily energy is focused on figuring out which movies I'm going to see during the weekend.

I read on another thread where you, I think it was you, stated that OU fans are glad to get rid of Pellini because they blame him for the Orange Bowl loss. Thats BS. I don't know of anyone that has even mentioned his name regarding the loss. You must have read that on some Sooner message board. I'm sure it was posted by a few idiots. Every school has them.

btw, I like Pellini. He will end up as a head coach somewhere.
