It takes balls to schedule a threat on opening day, thats why Tiger fans are pissed about the Hokies pullin out on us next year, plus a little revenge factor involved. Starting a new season with a loss out the gate hurts BAD. If you win, its also that much better for your season.
The SEC is going to be one bad m.f. next season. Every sec vs. sec game will be a dogfight(or cat or gator or hog). Whichever team accepts LSU's offer to play in Tiger stadium on Sept.4, will get (1)great national exposure,( 2) a chance to see why the SEC is the best conference in the nation,(3)Their ass handed to them in a paper bag along with some good cash. (4) a friendly gameday welcome,great food,instructions on how to tailgate,most beautiful women to look at, and be able to tell their children and grandchildren "I was in Tiger Stadium in '04."
Fiesta Bowl with your team #2 or a possible ass-kicking in the regular season in Baton Rouge. Let's see, if I am in Oregon which game do I prefer? I am not trying to be argumentative, but I think you are wrong. The Beavers had been so woeful for so long that this was as big to them (Fiesta) as us going to the NC game. That Beaver team in the Fiesta was a helluva team. But history is starting to prove that it may have been a fluke. I just don't see many fans traveling. 150 may have been a pretty low projection, though.
I still stick by my original 1500 estimate. Unless there are a lot of trees to be felled. Or a dam to be built. Then maybe it's a different story.

We love it when our Beavers are in big games and playing at #2 would be awesome. playing both national champs would be unreal! USC and LSU in the same season! Re: RESER STADUIM Look, due to my immature mind at times, I wanted the Trojans to be smothered by the Beavers, this past season--but you guys REALLY fell flat on your faces. So, it's pretty much because of you guys that USC is even able to PRETEND to be National Champs. Having said that, I've liked the Beavers (mostly because of your name), but now I want to kick your butts for not taking care of USC when you guys had the chance!!! :anger: :cuss: COME ON DOWN TO DEATH VALLEY!!!!!
