Count yourselves lucky with Coach Brady. He is always interesting. He has been since I have know him, which runs way back to elementary school. LSU has been tough even with depleted teams. Even when you lost most of your games in a season, the games were close. Do you not remember how well you guys did with only 5 players and a walk-on or two? Maybe he did his best coaching while you guys were on probation. Personally, I think that LSU will just get better.

No coach is immune to people fleeing their system for something better. MSU lost 2 graduates, Austin to the pros, Harper to injury, 2 recruits to the pros, and 1 recruit to grades. We have 1 starter returning. We could blame Stansbury for everything that happened, but that would be silly. We are lucky to have him, and if he wins this year in the SEC, it will be a heckuva coaching job.

LSU plays in the SEC. Games in the conference are tough every night. Even the runts at Oxfart can play a little bit. LSU is considered one of the top teams in the conference in the stuff that I read. Antics aside, your boy can coach. Give him his due.

Nice insight from the outside. There is no doubt he is respected by most coaches as well as feared in the SEC. Thanks for the post GloBullDog.

as far as the players like Jumichal and shawnson johnson.....

M.O. is that under the circumstances....Brady had to take chances on some guys that were 'willing' to come to LSU. some turned out to be fine players and individuals and some turned out to be lemons (i agree with you there TE)

now that we're "free" and starting to be recognized again....i think you'll notice diffrent types of players coming.

and about the players that quit...well...i think those were the unlucky "transition players". they were the types of players that we depended on during the dark days...but were being passed up by the new "non restricted" players.

TE, ive always agreed with you about the way some of the players have acted. i just thought it was something that Brady was forced into. He couldnt exactly go into any kids living room and sell the program....he took the best players he could get on the limited basis (schollys and visits...etc). he HAD to win in order to still have his job this long...and he knew it. look at all the people who complain about him now...

i really believe we're about to see the basketball team change dramatically. he can now preach to kids that LSU is a major program that is on the rise. he can also point to the other fine players that are on the team now...and that will also attract good players (on and off the court)

he wont have to make as many gambles from here on out and it will show.

ive personally always thought he was a great coach....and a great coach that would stay at LSU forever. im very greatful to have had him leading LSU through the dark days and now into the future....

    we'll be fine
