That's what I'm saying. It's just a shame that his sisters are so fucking brainwashed they haven't come forward.

Well then you clearly don't understand what pedophilia is. It is a clinical term with a clinical definition. It does not mean sexual molestation of a child. I don't know if this guy is a pedophile or not, but what has been reported is not evidence of pedophilia any more than the self described sexual predation Lena Dunham did to her sister was.

The definition of pedophile is a person who is sexually attracted to children. It doesn't say a person has to be an adult.

Now the definition of pedophilia says an adult or older adolescent, 14 or15 isn't older adolescent?

And I bet everyone would be singing a different tune if it was your 5 year old.

A 14-year-old with another 14-year-old is one thing; that person being your sister is high on the ick factor, and I have a difficult time getting past the 5-year-old sister part. Whether that constitutes pedophilia or not isn't a big deal to me, but the way the family has publicly paraded their virtue all over tv for the past decade makes it gross, like it was gross when Jimmy Swaggart's skeletons fell out of his closet.

In a couple of months, I will have a 14-year-old; I don't want her being groped at that point; if it was her brother, yuck. If it's a boyfriend her age? It's not unnatural; as a mom, I don't want to think about it.

Actually, the diagnosis and legal definition begins at age 16. The definition, BTW, is based on thought, not action. Therefore a pedophile may not be a molester if they choose to never touch a child and someone who molests a child may not be a pedophile if the victim is older than 11.

You are wrong. Nowhere have I suggested that a 14-year old molesting a prepubescent should escape punishment or not take responsibility. However, I damn well know the difference between that and an adult pedophile who literally hunts and selects victims and then takes action to make sure the victims don't talk.

in iran and saudi arabia he would be an adult (very bad company unless involving oil shares).

of course it would be different if it was your child. in fact, id just as soon hang him now even though its not mine. I almost always knew right from wrong and certainly did regarding that at 14. But I also know adults 30 years later who still lack judgment and seemingly mental development. would be tough to judge all barely teenagers on the same ground. although my instincts would be to off them immediately and i still might if the timing was right. id also be thrown in the lacking mental development department.

Again I don't see a difference. If it were my kid I wouldn't give a shit how old the fucker was I'd want his ass strapped to an electric chair.

However if the scenario were different and it was my kid that did it to my kid I'd be a hypocrite but I would at least think the molester would need to be in an institution.

So if another 5 year old touched your 5 year old you'd want them in the electric chair? Clearly there is a limit LaSalle....

We are talking teenager though. If it were another 5 year old I would probably just try and get my kid counseling and make sure she was never around that other 5 year old again.

I wonder if all of this is a result of the sexual repression in fundamentalist Christians.
