Precisely. You and I remember the days when we were lucky to see the Tigers on TV a couple of times a year.
It's really a moot point because they will never give up revenue from TV contracts, not only because of the huge money involved, but because it's a conference requirement.
It's a shame even though it's the reality... especially since the talking heads like Saturday Nights in Tiger Stadium as much as we do... at least the Game Day ones do... seems like between CBS/ESPN/ABC and SEC network they could wrangle broadcasting more than one or two Saturday Night games... specially during a season like this one is proving (so far) to be.
I understand that the SEC contract with CBS pretty much dictates what time we play our home games. What's hard to fathom is why CBS only elects to broadcast one prime time game per year. Since the SEC is the number one football conference one would think that premier match ups would draw just as good a ratings number as a rerun of CSI. That's the one part of the contract I would like to see renegotiated.
