Not really. We recruit well and a handful never make it to campus and get drafted. We simply do not overwhelm many with talent. Especially in the SEC.

LSU should never have an issue with getting the best. If we do then there is a problem. If the talent isn't developed there is a problem. LSU is college baseball royalty(or it should be) or there is a problem. Game management problems are evident throughout his tenure.

We need to deal with the problems, this is how Lester Miles hung around so long. Our fanbase somewhere along the way started settling for less and not demanding excellence in football and baseball.

There is a difference in giving a guy time and extending contracts...

Baseball had no problems with Skip. LSU should recruit itself in baseball

Skips baseball was a completely different time. Literally nothing about that time frame is the same nor will it ever be again.

I'm being polite right now because of Jesus. Happy Easter!!!

We are in about the same position as we were last year at this time. Turned out pretty well other than failing to finish first. CPM has had pretty much sustained success since he was hired, His teams never went into a tailspin the way Les' football team did following 2011. Tell me hotshot, what would you do about the lack of hitting with runners in scoring position? That is the major factor in several of the losses. After a rocky opening week the pitchers have for the most part been money. Better than I thought with no Lange, Poche or Eric Walker and with some very talented recruits on the injury list.
How would you juggle the rotation?

What names do you have in mind for Mainieri's replacement? When there is talk of firing a football or basketball coach it's easy for everybody to come up with their favorite, some realistic and some totally fantasy. Who is the Nick Saban of college baseball? Oh, yeah, it was Skip. OK, who is the Urban Meyer of college baseball? Let's hire him today.
