See, I would've never ordered it either. It was very good. I had a Bison tenderloin “au poivre”, autumn vegetable fricassee, and for desert, Lemon Verbena Poundcake - Frozen Lemon Soufflé, Lemon Curd, Crispy Meringue and Lemon Ice Cream. They are known for their Tortilla Soup. I tried my daughter's, it was quite good. They also had a duck confit and a lobster pasta which seemed to stand out from the rest. The other desert of note was the Mansion Candy Bar. It seemed to be the favorite for young and old. We took it easy on the wines as they are very expensive there, so nothing of real note there. Check out their website though. It was a very nice dinner and facility.
they have a great raspberry creme brulee. its been so long since i have eaten there, i dont remember anything else.
Ifyou want a really great root beer try a bottle of Abita Root Beer, made by the same people who brew the Abita beer. stevescookin, do you serve Abita Root Beer at your place?
I would imagine it's a safe bet to go with whatever the best food at Angola generally is, which I would imagine is fried shrimp. Sure you could ask for something exotic but you may get crap and it would suck to eat a crappy meal and then go to the chair.
Wow, so many choices and only 1 meal. Screw it here goes. At least 4 eggs fried over easy with hashbrowns (the stringy kind) with sausage mixed up in it. A bottle of tabasco and some ketchup with couple biscuits to sop it all up with and a glass of OJ with the pulp to wash it all down. That was the app. Maybe a fried shrimp po-boy or no screw that, my grandmothers (bless her heart she is about to lose her fight with lung cancer) crawfish etoufee. Beings I will never be able to have it again this would for sure be my choice. A good fresh french bread and more tabasco with a Dr Pepper and we are set for the nooner. Just before the lights go out a huge table of boiled crawfish with all the extras along with a cooler of abita amber and I'll just eat until I explode, die, sh!t my brains out, collapse from exhaustion....... and some bread pudding too, with the rum sauce of course
