Actually, there is a more than a good chance that I am completely wrong now that I think about it. With possible departures and committed players not changing to positions that some originally thought, there wont be potential TE's at other positions.

Yeah, but for some reason, poor OL performance just absolutely crushes the team in my position. And lack of depth there just seems to make a bigger difference than anywhere else on the field. Just an opinion.

Well, based on that assumption, we lose Alexander, Pittman, RJF, Jackson. Plus Favorite and T. Johnson. That IS a lot...

We return Al Woods, Corley, Alem, Levingston, Nevis. We'll see how Edwards and Aghayere do.

    4 DL wouldn't hurt.

Well, I certainly believe in the virtues of a strong OL, I'm just not sure that recruiting it is any different from other positions. You still have to account for all the same things.

Our second team OL consists of only 1 senior, with three RS Freshman, and a true sophomore the other primary back-ups.

I was thinking Tremaine Johnson was only a Jr... but I think you're right.

We've also got Kentravis Aubrey from Bastrop, he was highly regarded. I think he redshirted last year.

This is my guess (22 recruits)

    4 DL (2 DEs & 2 DTs)
    4 LBs (2 MLBs, 1 SAM, & 1 Will)
3 OL (center, guard & tackle)
    3 DBs (2 CBs & a Safety)
    3 WRs
    2 QBs
    3 RBs

The 23rd would be another OG or OT, if the defections called for it.

I am not a dandyD hater but his recruiting info has been way off lately. Probably not spending much time paying attention to it because of his wife's illness and my prayers go out to him. Plus, I have never considered him a recruiting guru. I do enjoy reading some of his interviews with the Louisiana prospects from time to time.

    His breakdown:

4 RBs (we are done at RB or add one more if a top prospect on our board)
4 WRs (3 at the most)
3-4 OL (not sure if he is counting the 2 we already have)

:geaux::crystal::helmet: Agree on that. Barksdale could be All SEC at tackle before he leaves. I believe the OL and DL are critical areas for recruiting this year. As stated in earlier posts, losses on the D-line could be big after this season. The O-line will lose a lot as well. Aren't we looking at losing Helms, Big Herm, and possibly Black? I would like to see 4 OL and 4 DL in this class. I think we're done at QB (2) RB(2). We'll probably take one more LB at least and 2 - 3 DB's. I'm really happy with where this class stands so far and that the momentum continues. This class has the potential to be one of the strongest LSU has had in several years. Coach Miles and his staff are doing a fantastic job!!! :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:

    All-American. :thumb:

Although it feels that way, rarely do true freshmen come in & start for LSU. It was the past couple classes that have truly been critical for the lines, because those are the guys that will be becoming starters.

Yes, and I believe Ryan Miller (primary center & guard back-up) as well, but our back-ups should be pretty good and ready.
