I hate to break anyones hopes, but RS cannot throw in the SEC. My son watched him play in high school and he has a run first mentality. He is by nature an athlete who gets the ball and does good things with it. He does not throw a pretty ball, from what I'm told. If he were to play QB and stink it up like JJ, we would be running him out of town too. Until GC is gone and a good offensive team can coach and teach these guys to play at this level, we will be as is. RS may proove this wrong and throw great, but from what I am told, it would not take long for other teams to relinquish him to another JJ. Let it go guys, not having control can be your friend....:D

I love how internet roomers have now become statements of fact. :dis:

Miles has never said this and we have never seen RS play the Wildcat other than a few times last year. (He was the most productive ball carrier on the team doing it btw.) So unless you are some kind of insider, that gets to watch practice, how do you know any of this?

For what it's worth you could apply that statement to JJ very easily. What's wrong with discussing possible alternative scenarios at QB? Especially if JL and JJ are out for some reason?

He did pretty damn good last year out of the back field. Didn't he averaged something like 9 yards a carry.

Then why do we keep throwing it to him IN the backfield? Out of the wild tiger would be "in open space".

I agree with you about internet rumors amazingly becoming fact. However, simply watching the games can tell you an awful lot. Whenever RS comes in at QB (read last season), a timeout is sure to follow. He was clearly confused at QB. Now, that was last season, but I wonder how much he learned regarding the QB position since HE ASKED TO BE MOVED TO WR? Oh, and by the way, not hatin on the guy...I think he's an awesome Tiger...but he doesn't even know the plays as WR yet...and he's a starting WR.

i don't know for sure, but i'm going to out on a limb and say the play book is a tad more complex than the one he ran at Cy Ridge.

    Thank you...

He was clearly lost during the game for EVERYONE to see. In addition, those were not internet rumors...these were facts as stated by those who attended the practices.

And to keep beating that dead horse....once again, it was RS that ASKED to be moved to WR. even he could see what apparently many in here can not.

Can this subject please die...it will NEVER HAPPEN so let it go already.

I agree with this but I think it can be viewed from two sides.

    • Regarding timeouts - He was a true freshman leaning three positions at once. That's a lot for anyone. Also, I think the "look to me" play calling we used last year may have contributed as well.
    • Regarding learning WR - Again, this is his first year ever playing the position. Given that I, think it's a testimate to how quickly he can learn given the that he's already broken into the starting line up.

I'm not saying he should be starting QB. But a little Wildcat might be nice. It's not like our QB's are doing such a bang up job it's keeping him off the field.

Then again maybe coaches feel like him concentration purely at WR to learn as fast as he can is best. I can buy that too.

I just don't like notion that we can't discuss ideas without them being dismissed out of hand. And for no real reason at all.
