True, but a fourth seed in a regional may be the sixtieth best team in the country whereas the team we play Friday will be one of four teams left so you could argue they are in the top four in the nation. It's a different scenario. I would send Reynaudo out there with Ross available to clean up the mess just like in game one.

we're probably going to need Ross to start at least 1 game in this thing anyway.

    so throw him Friday.
will be against a team running out of pitchers, and possibly starting to wear down from the grind of coming out of loser's bracket.

much rather see that than in game 2 or 3 of the Championship series with the season n the line.

So if we pitch him Friday we won't have to pitch him in the championship series? That's true, if he wins and if we win the first two games of the finals. If we don't, he will be pitching for all the marbles. I'd rather him pitch game one of the championship series and throw the guy who gives us the best chance to win on Friday to avoid having to burn Coleman or Ranaudo in the second game. That's just me

Ross without a doubt in the first game. We already know that Coleman is unavailable on Friday. If we can sneak a win from Ross then we're sitting real pretty for the championship series. If he loses, we come back on Saturday with both Coleman and Renauldo as options. Ross already started a game that we won against Arkansas in the regular season while Renauldo lost. Granted I fully expect Virginia to win the loser bracket game to throw that last tidbit off.

    I agree.

I say start Ranaudo on Friday. He had a horrible game against UVA but we ALL know he's MUCH better than that. To sit him/skip him...well, what messages does that send?

Win Friday and we advance to the title round. Set ourselves up to have Coleman pitch in any elimination game/title clincher.

If we advance to the title round, we'll need all 3 like it was pointed out so I say let Ross go game 1. Win and I throw Coleman for the title. Either way, I say Coleman should pitch game 2 no matter what as it would either be to force a game 3 in the event that we lose game 1 or it would be Coleman on the mound to pitch for a title if we win the first.

I agree with letting Ross take the mound. I think it would be best to try to keep Ranaudo and Coleman fresh for the championship series if at all possible.

Both Arky and Va have seen Ranaudo. They will both also be on their last legs with semi tired arms throwing for them. Both of those teams had to use several pitchers so far. We should give whoever pitches for us plenty of run support. Plus, our bullpen has been strong and deep ever since the SEC tourney. All of our relief pitching so far in this tourney has been good. Bert got into some issues in his relief against Va so we had to bring in someone else.

Let Ross start and hit the bullpen early if needed. Save Ranaudo and Coleman for the championship (or a 2nd game on Sat if needed).

Reynaudo has been named the starter per 1210 the score, by matt from Tiger Rag.
