Don't know if I can do this Patrick Petersen Tyrann Mathieu Michael Clayton Rohan Davey Kevin Faulk Herman Johnson Corey Webster Dalton Hilliard Eric Martin Josh Reed
See that's why you gotta explain why because its so hard to pick 10, there has to be a reason why you put em in your personal top 10.
Yep, there were so many greats I left off my list, players BETTER than people on my list. Just my favorites happen to be the huge playmakers and the people who hit really freaking hard. Had Loston not been a huge disappointment he probably would be on there with the way he hits.
Let's not forget Devery Henderson. He won an ESPY for the Bluegrass Miracle. Also the 2003 defensive line, which included Chad Lavalais, Marcus Spears, Marquis Hill, and a host of others who all ended up in the NFL. Best Defensive Line LSU ever had.
The longer this thread goes on the more sure I am that I can't make a top ten. We really have had so many great Tigers. I really love seeing all these names so keep it going!
1. DHilliard - I just loved watching that guy run, both at LSU and the Saints 2. TMathieu - changed the game when it needed changing. 3. WDavis - dude was just money. 4. THodson - dude was clutch under pressure 5. CAlexander - finished 4th in Heisman, when that was saying something, and it mattered. 6. PPeterson - agree w/someone else's comment that he may have been the best athlete at his position to come through LSU 7. LMarshall/HThomas/RMelancon - big boys who used to live for goal line stands, or stopping opponents when they went for it on 4th down. Would get the student section riled up when I was there. 8. HTyler - very underrated Tiger. Ran a smooth offense 9. RDavey - one word, productive. 10. CSteltz - laid everything down, every play, every game, and brought the wood. Honorable Mention 10: EFuller, EReid, SRehage, TCasanova, BJones, YAT, HGajan, EMartin, BMcFarland, CWebster I also like LSUDane's inclusion of JLee, dude did go through a lot and remained committed to the Tigers to the end.
duh, forgot LSUs only Heisman winner and everybody's all-american, Billy Cannon (and I'm sure others). he would be up there w/PatPete as best athlete ever to wear an LSU uniform.
Love your list. I would add Michael Clayton and Bradie James to mine. And, I don't think Rohan is under appreciated at all. He and Herb Tyler are 1 and 1a of my all time favorite LSU QBs. I was kind of young in the Hodson era or he'd be rated higher.
