I'd go with PP too. He's been, for the most part, a shut down corner. He's given the rest of the defense a lot more flexibility because he can take the opposing teams best receiver out of the game. You may not hear his name all night, but that's a good thing.
Hard to argue against PP or CJ, but I think Shepard and Coleman stepped their games up the most and linebacker play was (and will be next year too) critical to our defense. I am not sure there was an MVP on offense. JJ have improved a lot but still hurts us sometimes (like taking a sack again last night with 1:18 on the clock). Josh Jasper certainley stepped up big all year. Whether pouch puntting or kicking field goals "he was money" all season.
My MVP's for the year Offense = Richard Dickson, one of the top TE LSU ever had Defense = Patrick Peterson, best shut down corner in the SEC
PP He is one of the most amazing football players ever for LSU! Next year he will be a beast and talked up big time. He will be a great pro and be drafted in the top 5 ! :tigereye:
Can't decide so I have Co MVP's. Peterson and Mr. Mr. Jones. They have a thing going on. I can't pick one over the other, it would be wrong.
This is true. But, I'd go with CJ. Let's not forget his 93 year return for a TD. I do think that a lockdown corner is paramount, and PP really shut down the other team's best receiver. But, CJ made pretty impactful plays, served as defensive quarterback and again, probably single handedly won the Miss St game for us. Petersen, if given the correct call vs 'Bama, probably would have gotten the nod in my mind, had we won that game.
