We will not promote Mallory simply to get a commitment from TJ Bryant. All of the recruits are being told that Mallory is a very possible replacement for Pelini. Whether it happens or not, it helps keep recruits' relationship with the staff.
thats stating the obvious...however, no, I dont think we tell recruits this unless it's a strong possibility. that would be just silly and destructive.
I don't post much, but this one is something that I know about. John Tenuta is the best DC in the country. Make no mistake about it. I coach in Georgia and watch him work up close during pre-season and spring practices. He's unbelievable. No one will be complaining this time next year. What he does with Tech's talent is amazing.
Georgia Tech's recruiting classes are filled with 2 star and 3 star players (only one 4 star defensive player, a DB, since 03). Getting the most of the talent he is handed is definitely a fitting description of the job he has done.
I don't think it's a direct reflection on Tenuta's recruiting. GT isn't exactly a "hot spot". Their campus is smack dab in the heart of downtown Atlanta and in a not so nice area. Exactly WHAT has GT done in the ACC (let alone on a national level) in terms of football success since the early '90's?
