ok, number 1 there is no "old logo," that's why they made toonces (to have a consistent visual identity). number 2, they no longer use the original toonces (which is now the old logo). that lsu font mark is the official mark of lsu, not lsu athletics, not lsu academics. it's just lsu's trademark (and it's a damn good one). number 3, the logo they use now is a good logo. you all have to remember/realize that the logo is not for us. it's for people who aren't born and raised lsu fans. that's what marketing is for. finally, this is our athletic logo now: it is not the original toonces that you all refer to but it does use the face of toonces. lsu made a huge mistake unveiling the original before moving to this, but regardless of that, this logo is a good logo. it is INSTANTLY recognizable as lsu athletics across the entire country now. that is what a logo is supposed to do. you all speak of supporting coaches, etc., well support lsu's marketing too because it's just as successful as the football team, if not more.
