Geez even Browns sister was saying Roll Tide and they were kicking us on the screen showing LSU fans everything they didn't get.
Yeah that was a bullshit move to say Roll Tide if you are currently a student athlete of one of its biggest rival schools. If I'm the track coach she doesn't have to worry about feeling split between school and family anymore because she isn't on the team.
I've also been one of the "sunshine pumpers". I'm not blind to Miles' shortcomings but the fact is he has been the most successful coach in LSU history. You can't be a complete idiot and accomplish that feat. I like Miles and appreciate what he has brought to LSU. But recruiting has been a big strength of his in the past. Recruiting has been on the decline for the last couple of years. That's troubling to say the least. I don't have sources, I'm an uninformed observer but something seems to have changed in BR. I would put it back to the 2011 season with the JL/JJ controversy. Did Miles lose the team? Players left in droves last year, we are not getting the recruits we normally get this year. Watching all these elite players leave the state reminds me of the 80s/90s watching the Marshall Faulks and Warren Dunns leave for other programs. Something happened, I'm convinced. Miles doesn't seem to enjoy the game like he used to. He's no longer coaches like the Mad Hatter, he is uber-conservative. He is still a good coach and he still wins 10 games a year but something is different in Tigertown. Maybe the never-ending bitching by fans is taking its toll on Miles and potential recruits. Maybe players are telling/showing recruits something that makes them look elsewhere. Maybe today's players just want flash over substance. I don't know but if LSU doesn't improve next year, it may be a foreshadowing that the program is indeed in decline. Hopefully, we all wake up tomorrow with a more positive perspective. This class still reeled in some great players. And I still think LSU was set up for failure and embarrassment today.
