I am old enough to have witnessed the entire Cholly Mac era. Loved the guy. Was a real gentleman, never any real trouble on or off the field with his players or his coaches and was just a nice guy. Always had a great defense. Hardly ever won a title of any kind but you could always count on him to win a 7 to 9 games ever year. His only flaws was we had to accept he was never going to beat Bama or win a NC, was very stubborn, his offense was very very predictable, didn't really believe in the passing game and in the in the modern game of football passed him by which was his demise.
