LSUs ranking and lack of mention in national conversation has everything to do with no confidence or respect for Oeaux. That’s the bottom line. Oeaux needs to prove all of the naysayers wrong, local and national.
The top of the rankings are pretty accurate. Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and OSU should be competing for the playoffs until the very end. Further down the rankings I can see teams moving up or down as the season progresses. I can see s big downward slide for Miami. Auburn could go up or down. Oklahoma will be very good if they can replace Baker Mayfield. Washington could take a big tumble. Or not. They have pretty clear sailing after the Auburn game. Wisconsin and Penn State could be better than they are ranked.
Don't think that's the reason more to do with unknown at QB and the lack of a marquee RB. The no confidence about Oeaux is certainly here, not with me however. I also have a lot of confidence in E and that Burrow is the real deal. We shall see
He did although in the narrow guideline of pre-season rankings and the starting QB, Fromm wasn't it. The ranking UGa had at the start of 2017 was based on Eason. That said, prior non-starters can still go all the way.....Jameis Winston comes to mind. Even then, there might be 2 sub-categories. I'd give more applause to a true freshman who had never started than a red-shirt or backup who has at least one or maybe more seasons in to observe and practice in the system. I think we might be. I just don't know yet. And I agree with the rest. Absolutely. I want to make clear that for me, it was an acknowledgement, not a bias theory. The SEC does get mulligans but for good reason. It's going to continue this way likely on a permanent basis. California and to a lesser extent, the Western states are seeing declining numbers in youth participation. The scare regarding CTE and the growth of many other sports has more people turning away from football. At some point, the SEC and parts of the midwest may be the only places left producing the talent. Maybe. But if they are tied in record with an SEC team and even if Arizona would have tougher OOC opponents, the SEC team will get the votes. I understand why.
