Saban is a stubborn SOB. But he realized that the future of college football wasn't AJ Mccarron taking seven step drops. So he started to hire young, innovative guys to run his offense and brought in QBs who can run for 40 yards when nobody is open. His current OC is 34 years old. LSU has gone.....a different way.
I agree with @65Grad and @StaceyO, this would appear to be Saban's best team. I said the same on the Ensminger thread. I don't see anyone beating them this year. It's frustrating as hell. I just wish we could have avoided the shutout. Two in a row now at home against them.
Bathed quite a few brain cells with tequila, but I think he got kickeed off the team for violating team rules (tested positive for pot?), went to a JUCO for a year and signed with Bama.
Even 5-4 Mizzou managed to score 10 (at BD stadium to boot). A scarier thought is 2-7 Ark scored more against them than anyone they've played so far this season. I don't see O being our problem at this point, though he is partially to blame. I think we need an OC, QB, and a better fence around our QB... we need some playmakers. I like Joe, he's a good kid and I think a lot of our wins are because of him. But he's just not at the level we need right now.
Maybe, but he wasn’t the long term answer, and sucked against other teams. Personally, I don’t like how so many fans put such a microscope on the ALA game. Yes, E hasn’t scored against Bama, but he is in first true season as OC. Oeaux/E are working with CLMs slowed recruiting on offense, had to bring in a transfer QB, have a new o-line coach, patchwork o-line, and we’re the weakest at RB we’ve been in 2 decades. Despite that we’re 7-2, top 10, and stand a great chance to end up 10-2, maybe 11-2, when everyone was expecting 6-7 wins total. I just think people need to have a bit of patience and adjust expectations for 1-2 seasons. Not forever, just until this regime can truly show what they can do. If this is happening 3 seasons into tenure, then I’m cutting bait.
