I am frustrated with the way our defense has played too. I've hardly posted this week because the Georgia loss hurt so much. That said, I agree with Red that the coaches are paid handsomely to win games. We have to assume that they are going to put the best 11 out there on each play in order to give themselves the best chance at winning. On the contrary my heart (nor any of my other vital organs) can handle another loss like last week so the defense has to improve. I look to see some improvement tonight against MOO-U! Geaux Tigers
and I'm not blaming you for doing so.....I do the same thing. we are fans and that is what we do. just saying that we have to assume that the staff is doing their best to prepare the team and putting the personnel on the field who they believe will give us the best chance of winning. If we were 2-2 right now then I would probably be more likely to be in favor of playing the talented youngsters to prepare them for the future. That said, I think our offense is good enough for us to win out as long as we can manage mediocre defense.
So after tonight, I think we are still in the same boat, pretty much. They used Barrow better in the 2nd half, but that kid is god awful if he has to think. Welter is a lost cause and totally useless out there. It's like playing with 10 men on the field.
Barrow and Welter led the team in tackles. Someone has to step up and be better to take their jobs. It just ain't happening yet.
