I hope they've been holding back on the defense.

My interpretation is simply that the team must work hard now to achieve the goals for the season. Beating Bama and A&M will require being a better team in November than we are today.

It means that Russell Shepard might finally throw a pass.

That goes without saying for almost any team in the country, but I am almost certain by mid to late season this D will be firing on all cylinders the way they should be. At least we have an O that can finally move the ball, score points and take some pressure off the defense.

I agree and they have a plan and a focus on where they are going and how to get there. It could be very scary for the rest of them if we get by Ga. The bulldogs are the real test not only because of their capabilities but because of where they are in the schedule.

    LOL!

But seriously, Terrence Magee was a QB in high school and was probably a better one than Shep was. My Bastrop Rams dealt with them two or three straight years in the playoffs. We took them down twice I believe, including once in route to the Finals. The last time (what we call year 1 AR...after Rueben), they flat out ran up the score on us. If we wanted to employ a little trickeration, maybe a pass from Magee would be the ticket...

Yep...Kieland Williams & Spencer Ware can attest to the fact that Miles ain't afraid to use the RB as a QB on occasion.

Isn't Magee a lefty? If so, that could add another element to the trickeration.

Hmmm...wouldn't it make it harder for the WRs to catch the ball if they're not used to a lefty rotation? Might be more trouble than it's worth, unless they've really practiced it enough for the receivers to adjust automatically when they see #14 throw the rock.

I think you give Bama and ATM too much credit.

Bama didn't win that game like the talking heads on ESPN and saying ... Manziel lost it with two bone headed mistakes that cost 14 points. The game should have been 49-25 ATM.

I'd say LSU has every bit as potent offense as ATM ... so we are looking at at least 35 points with a TD adjustment for later in the season. BUT .. LSU's defense, even as young as they are, are already better than ATMs defense ... so, take away the int return and a couple of TDs ... I think you are looking at a 35-28 game, with LSU comming out on top.

For ATM ... I think LSU's offense is way more potent that Bama's .... and thus, I think you'll be looking at a shoot out. ATM will put 40 points on the board .... but LSU will put up 50+.

Right now .. I think LSU's biggest obstacle is GA. Very balanced, tough D, and smoking O. GA and LSU are the two most balanced teams in the SEC .... IMO. We get past GA ... we see GA again in the SEC CG.
