Much ado about nothing. Did you read the comments below the article? Everything was done in fun, there was no heckling, no one lost their manhood, no one got drunk and questioned their life. What a stupid article.

Agreed, stupid article. Bama fans seemed to take no offense.

First of all I was there and am on the last part of the video saying “Roll Tide” and “good luck coach.” The cheers were all in fun, nothing negative was said to Coach Miles except for Roll Tide (which is a phrase that can be used in any situation.) None of those fans were on vacation from Alabama, all of them live in NYC or NJ and most are a part of the UA Alumni NYC Chapter. The young man that was wearing the hounds-tooth hat is 16 years old and was part of a group there to support Trent. Most of the guys in the group are a part of 15 high school athletes that I had the privilege to lead from New Jersey to Tuscaloosa, AL this past August to volunteer for a week in the tornado relief/rebuilding effort. In the process they fell in love with the southern culture and Alabama football. While in Tuscaloosa they were guest at a Bama practice and got to meet Trent Richardson, Coach Saban and other players who came over after practice and thanked them for serving Tuscaloosa. That is why they took the train over from Jersey last night, to show support for Trent.

There was a large group outside the Best Buy Theater prior to the ceremony from Stanford, Baylor, and a few from Wisconsin to show their support for their candidates. Alabama had the largest crowd. We only saw one guy with a LSU hat on, so unfortunately there was no support for Tyrann Mathieu. Each player stopped by their respective group of fans and thanked them for their support, except for the Honey Badger, because there was no one to thank.

It was a cool thing Coach Miles did in shaking the guys hands and the “nice hat” comment, but it was not in anyway negative, we thought it was funny. Our guys loved it. I respect Coach Miles because of what he said after they beat Bama in Tuscaloosa when he was asked about a possible rematch, he said he “would be honored to play these guys again”.

les talked about this when asked in his presser. he talked about how he likes and appreciates passionate fan bases, that he appreciates that in the crowd from tuscaloosa just as he enjoys seeing the same passion in our fans. that is part of what makes cfb so great.

that he understands the symbolism in the hat and that is part of the passion, and i think he really did think it was a nice hat because of that.

it was a good answer, appreciative of college football fans. gotta love :miles:

    Right, Rw.

This has all the significance of any bye week post that does not deal directly with team vs team issues.

We are all in the big bye leading to the BCS title. Anything even remotely related to CLM or LSU or Bama will be posted.

    Meh!

LOL I have to ask this

Just how much would you give for "That Hat " That man has a treasure ad he knows it !!! If I were him I would send it to LSU and see if Les would sign the cap and send it back to hm . Or maybe we have a few million of them made up for quick a sale . About 35 dollars a cap Nice hat
