So by your logic we should eliminate ADC (Aid to Dependent Children), quit increasing the welfare check every time they drop another baby and cut out birth control, breast feeding and the "Well Mommy" crap that's in the Obamacare fiasco. Great. I like it.

It isn't. I pay what I pay and you pay what you pay. You are not paying anymore because I am paying less. It is an individual income tax system.

The tax code reflects the reality that it takes a certain amount of money to eat, and that you should be able to exempt a little bit of that per person. In a screwy system with a billion different deductions you really can't say it shows favortism for anything.

As long as I have to subsidize your Democratic Party campaign contributions you have to subsidize my kids.

So? My taxes are subsidizing poor folks decision to have kids. Why should my taxes be used for that? Apples and apples Hoss.

It's a fairness thing, like investment income not counting like salary income or business profits.

Why exempt anything? How does it help America. Taxes are not here to make your budget easier.

I contribute to no party, I have to subsidize your children instead.

Nope. Everybody's taxes go to support the indigent, that's an orange.

The apple is two guys making about the same money and one getting subsidized by the government and one not.

So we agree that the 49% who pay no fed income tax should pay and that those who are physically able to work shouldn't get paid to not work, right? I mean, if they get paid to not work, how about paying those of us who do work to make it fair?

    :D

What is unfair about different types of income being taxed differently? They have different amounts of risk and result in different economic outcomes. Why would they be treated the same?

In a system so broken and concoluted nothing can be unfair.

Because it takes money to support a family. The more folks in the family results in more funds being needed. A tax system which treats a family of 5 the same as a family of 2 disincentives people from having children which robs society of its most important asset, the ability to continue.

It also makes the economy less efficient by taking money out of the pockets of people who will spend it, and puts it into government coffers. How is that good for any of us?

When people have more of their own money, they do 1 of 2 things with it. Spend it or invest. Either of those things will become drivers for job creation and economic growth.

Nonsense. I explained this to you already. Tax breaks are not subsidies. Tax breaks allow you to keep what you have earned. Subsidies give you what someone else has earned.
