A-Rod has opted out of his contract.

Now maybe they can have that chemistry they so very lacked these 4 years of the A-Rod regime.

Yankees need to go get them a Scott Brocious type player who is a grinder and leader and can help that team to win it yet again.

Wouldn't hurt to actually acquire some legit starters as well.

    Three questions:
    1. How many games do you honestly believe the Yankees would have won without A Rod this year?

    2. Do you work for the media?

    3. How many double plays did Jeter ground into in the ALDS?

    Oh. My. God.

The best hitter in baseball is leaving the team and you think they'll improve? With a Scott Brosius type?

    A-Rod career OPS: .967
    Brosius career OPS: .745

I don't care how leader-y and grind-tastic S.B. is perceived to be, these two men almost don't play the same sport.

Last time I checked A-Rod is not a pitcher. :insane:

At least we won't have to endure listening to "AN AAAA BOMB FROM AAAA-ROD" :rolleye33:

The last line was the only one that made any sense. A-rod was not even a small part of why the Yankees failed to advance in postseason. I'd take Adolph Hitler if he could produce 54 dingers and 160 ribbies. Without A-Rod, the Yanks don't even sniff the playoffs in 07. Signing pitchers like Carl Pavano and Jaret Wright is what precipitated the Yankees downfall. Their young pitchers like Hughes and Kennedy will help next year.

I love when people post stuff with no knowledge about the topic at hand, but just say stuff to hear themselves talk.

the original post in this thread is a good example.

Dude, I'll run circles around your ass when it comes to baseball.

    Don't even try it.

i don't claim to be a baseball expert.

    basketball is a diff story.

i don't know how much of the original post was sarcasm or poking fun at the media (I sure hope it's a little of both), but if you were being serious and labeling A-Rod as the Yanks No. 1 problem, then you can't debate baseball with a paper bag.

I contend that the Yankees were never going to win a WS with him on the roster. That's as far as I went and I am sticking to that claim.
