the first time i saw Faulk, i knew he would be something great. It was right after Hurricane Andrew and I went watch Carencro's jamboree. He was the holder on an extra point. Someone rolled over his ankle while trying to block the kick and he started limping. I figured he'd come out of the game because it was a jamboree. He stayed in and limped the rest of the game, but finished it at quarterback. Derrick Beavers, meanwhile, was in the stands at that time, because it was a jamboree. Faulk was a sophomore and Beavers was the "stud" senior. Carencro won state that year.
Nice article, though only a few sentences about Faulk and Collins. Hard to believe Collins has already been in prison for 9 years now.
Someone recently posted an interview of him from prison. It was a sad thing to watch. EDIT: Here is the link to the thread: http://www.tigerforums.com/showthread.php?t=66753&highlight=cecil+collins
Yep, that was pretty sad but he doesn't seem remorseful at all and doesn't even appear to think he did anything wrong. I'm seeing more jail time in his future after he gets out.
For example, how do you get to know someone well enough to marry them while you are in prison? Not exactly sound judgment on his part.
As I said in a prior thread, he has a mental illness that will not be addressed since prisons just incarcerate, they don't rehabilitate.
A jury of his peers decided he was quilty, not sick. If he had mental issues, his lawyer should have defended him as such. Then if found to be true, he would be in a place that would help him rehab it instead of in prison.
