Re: Rueben Randle I'm just curious, what prevents this forum from becoming like tigerdroppings? Rules? Moderators? Nothing? Maybe just having another site where flamers can do their thing cleans up the other sites? I'm not experienced with other boards or pay sites. This one was recommended to me by my brother.
Re: Rueben Randle Moderators help (especially with flamers), but it is mainly just about culture as far as our level-headed fans go, IMO.
Re: Rueben Randle A typical kind of poster like those found on tigerdroppings wouldn't last a week on here. He/she would quickly pick up the fact that he/she wasn't very well received and would just move on to a board like tigerdroppings and would fit in nicely. It's the culture like CParso alluded to.
Re: Rueben Randle Thanks for welcoming me. I am an avid fan of college football and love the SEC. I also love a good debate. Just from what I've been hearing and reading on our boards the info was the LSU recruiting base is saying Rueben Randle was an LSU lock and we had no shot. I know that Rueben and Coach Saban has a good relationship and his high school coach seemes to also think we have a shot at landing him. Plus our qb prospect AJ McCarron has a good relationship with him. Granted I know he is from Louisanna, but Joe Mcknight left for Southern California a few years ago. The suspense of these recruits waiting is really killing me. I wish they would move up national signing day to Janurary.
Re: Rueben Randle you and me both. anything that gets that popular can't stand... it's the way the internet works. and i think what keeps this site stays cool because of the pay aspect plus the mods. i'm still a cheap bastard though. i'll blame it on the "recession"
Re: Rueben Randle They do have a chance. But it's only a chance, not an inside track. Playing time? He'll get that anywhere. Playing in the shadow of a potential All-American has been turned down by many an ambitious recruit. It ain't the receivers that Randle is likely concerned with, though, it's the quarterbacks. Bama offers a pair of unknown 4-star quarterbacks with no experience at all. LSU found out about that this season. LSU will offer a trio of quarterbacks that have all started and have their freshman jitters behind them. One was athe bowl game MVP, two of them were also 4-star recuits and LSU has a 5-star 2009 recruit already enrolled at LSU who is the top-ranked quarterback in the country this year. Only in Alabama, amigo. We don't deify our coaches around here. Nobody will be surprised if he comes to LSU. Evrybody will be surprised if he ends up at Alabama.
Re: Rueben Randle A few months ago, I felt Bama was RR's leader. However, ever since the Arkansas game when Jordan Jefferson started at QB for us, our chances have been improving. I feel pretty confident about getting RR now.
Re: Rueben Randle He isn't a lock by any means but since his HS season has been over, all the vibes are pointing to LSU. Only source I have is pay site info, so I go by that. Apparently people in the know around him get this vibe too but I have no actual sources.
Re: Rueben Randle Re: why this forum is better than tigerdroppings and what makes it so Thanks guys, I really like this forum because of the respect the posters show each other and a lot of you seem to have a real connection with what's going on with the recruiting process. Because of the responsabilities of being athe chef/owner of a small restaurant I can't even watch LSU games much less go to them. This forum allows me to keep in touch. I went to LSU during the '70s and early '80s undergrad and grad school and it was such an important part of my life. I really do get goosebumps when I hear the alma mater. I used to sing it to my kids as a lullabye when they were young. Now, they're older and are starting their own lives going to college, getting married and so on. With all that in mind, I appreciate being able to stay in touch with LSU through Tigerforums. On the surface, I'm reading about the recruiting of Ruben Randle, but deep inside lie the "fond memories that wakens in our hearts a tender glow".
