"If you hear anything from Bama fans about the AJ and RR connection, they are overhyped."

The Dropping's board is saying Bama is still very much in with RR. I tend to listen to you guys more than them though. I hope your right!

I really thought Bradford was a Soph...

    A TRUE Soph, at that.

Let me know if I'm wrong.

I thought so too but he is a RS Sophomore.

If he has a solid game vs Florida, win or lose, he will most likely be projected #1 overall to Detroit.

I don't think Stafford warrants a #1 pick overall at this point. That would be their only other choice at QB.

    Re: Rueben Randle

He actually cooled on Bama a long time ago but out of respect AND admiration for Saban, kept them in the mix, knowing that Saban could still pull one out of the hat and woo him to Tuscaloosa.

He heated up on Oklahoma back in November when Bradford still figured to be around another year, but after everything that has happened since then (going gangbusters on Tech, winning Heismann, new draft status) he *kind of* cooled on them too, especially with the potential for Stoops to bolt.

The maturation of JJeff has been very big for him. So out of the main three schools, you have Oklahoma with probably no more than one more year of Bradford, Alabama with a completely unknown commodity, and LSU with AT LEAST two years of JJeff to build on. If you throw in Miami, with Jacory Harris for at least two more years, they seem appealing but JJeff looks further ahead of JH at this point even with JH getting much more on field time.

I felt after the Arky game, despite the loss, that LSU increased their chances with JJeff back there. With the way he looked in the bowl game, they skyrocketed. Even the people around Bastrop who didn't think he should go to LSU because of the QB sitcho have switched it up and are fully on board, the Bastrop WR coach included...

Of course it's still his decision to make, and he'll go where he feels he has the best chance to succeed and grow as a player. LSU's chances are higher than they've ever been, especially in comparison to earlier in the season when the QB situation was completely unstable. People assumed RS would help, but when you're trying to woo a potentially great WR who wants to contribrute quickly, you don't entice him with a fellow incoming freshman who's propensity (and ability) to run COULD hinder his development as a WR. He would become a better blocker, but what WR doesn't want to put up numbers?

I didn't feel good about our chances a few months ago, now I'd honestly be shocked if he chose to go elsewhere.

Maybe they should load JJeff up for the trip to Bastrop for the visit as well, :hihi:.

With nupe on board and obviously VERY CLOSE to the situation at hand, everyone should feel relaxed about LSU landing this young phenom.

I don't like to post rumors about something I read on TD.com but I thought it was interesting considering the info Sonny just gave out. Someone posted a few weeks ago that Bama has actually started to cool down on RR, for whatever reason, whether it be he told them to do so or they thought they just didn't have a big chance. Apparently they're starting to go after Patterson much harder now and Kelly. So this could be why Oklahoma is entering the picture as #2. If its against Oklahoma, I like our chances even if Bradford stays.

Nupe, a question, do you think getting Debose would help us more with RR too? I'd have to say yea, since they could develop together and both be superstar receivers. That is assuming some miracle lets us get Debose.

I'm hoping you guys are right about landing Randle. I actually know his dad and see him every week. He's been pretty tight lipped about where Reuben may go. I kinda got the impression that he wasn't smitten with the coaching staff. Hope that's changed. I'll see Reuben's dad tomorrow and I'll see what he has to stay. He's a real nice guy.
