    Re: Rueben Randle

Well, I don't think RR is going to be questioning LSU's QB situation much anymore. JJ looked great out there except a few minor errors. Had his long ball not got called back, he would of been well over 200 yards passing. Plus he missed a deep one earlier. He looked real good IMO, hes going to be a good one.

When you look back at his three starts, the only time hes shown inconsistency was in the second half. In both Arkansas/Ole Miss, he was sitting on his ass most of the time due to penetration off the snap. Which I don't think he could do much about, could any QB really? He made a few errors in the second half of GT but most of his momentum was getting taken back from penalties, plus second half of 4th quarter I noticed 2nd team in. JJ took care of the ball pretty well and I love his arm, he just needs to adjust his pocket awareness a bit, something that will come for a young QB. I noticed he was going through progressions, a great sign because you often see Senior QBs not even doing this...

I thought this game was going to be a deciding factor and I'd have to say I feel pretty confident RR is coming here now. If he doesn't choose us, it was because he was never coming here in the first place. Really nothing left to sell, the questions have been answered IMO.

Now that's what I call putting it succinctly.

    Well played. :thumb:

Is there anyway not to let Mcarron not be able to have his offical visit the same week as RR's?

I just noticed how different his eyes were from eachother. Might affect his long ball, Randle.:hihi:

I did not think the result of this bowl game would affect our recruiting class, but I did feel that Jefferson's performance would be a big key to landing Randle and I feel much better about our chances now.

This thread now has almost 32,000 views (that's 3 times the next closest thread in recruiting!) ! We're gonna be some disappointed if we don't sign Randle.

Just an observation, it seems BUSY on the forum today, that's cool ! Lot's of excited happy Tiger fans after last night's win over Ga. Tech!

Anyone think this Sugar Bowl outcome will have strong implications for Randle, especially if it finishes the way it has gone so far?

    No.

I think Randle's issue was the QB situation at each school.

LSU's game was much more important to Randle than this game. Jefferson supplied the answer Randle was looking for.

Alabama has an unknown entity at the helm next season. This game doesn't change that dynamic.

On the other hand.. it enforces it. Specifically the part about a young QB not having great protection. :hihi:

    Cmon down RR.

    Re: Rueben Randle

Well lets recap the Bama game:

JPW is horrible and arguably has only been slightly better than our entire QB situation this year. He was never asked to win games, its apparent now. That means he gives them the best chance to win, otherwise the guy behind him would already be starting. Plus JPW was a Senior, who didn't look like it most of the year IMO.

This game is a glimpse of what their o-line will be next year. Smith is gone and they were horrible blocking.

Saban will continue to lose coordinators often, hes done it his entire career. This can't be good for a young WR like RR to learn one system.

Yea, I'd say our QB situation is in a better situation right now than Bama, especially JJ's performance on the big stage. Just wanted to mention this for optimism, I know RR has to be looking and questioning the same thing. Bama fans have to have some serious concerns after this game. Bama will have offensive woes next year but will win off defense, IMO. Come on down RR. :miles:
