    Re: Rueben Randle

The National Recruiting Director for ESPN's Scouts Inc., Tom Luginbill, thinks Rueben Randle is not on the same level as Julio Jones:

Dec 31 -- the 2008 class featured an elite playmaker in Alabama recruit Julio Jones (No. 2 overall) and a dominant pass-rusher in Clemson recruit DaQuan Bowers, who was the No. 1 player in the class. Like Pryor, Jones and Bowers were major impact recruits as freshmen.

Shepard is currently ranked No. 1 overall in the ESPNU 150. Unlike it the class that preceded it, this 2008 group doesn't seem to have a defensive dominator or elite wide-receiving prospects on par with what we saw last year.

    Nice post!

Dre Kirkpatrick is no joke. I ended up watching the DBs more than the WRs. (former DB). However, I liked Timmons and Randle from the video. Randle seemed to favor going inside, then up-field. Of course, that was only a few routes that were shown.

McCarron is complaining about the footballs:

Quarterback A.J. McCarron commented that they are hard to grip. "A.J. doesn't look right now like he did at the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star game and I think it's because of the balls," said Barry Avery. "They are too slippery for him."

With those massive forearms the footballs just squirt out like watermelon seeds.

If you cover one of his eyes and look at his pic and then cover the other, he looks like two different people. Those eyes a crazy.

Mike Farrell on his recruiting roundup at the All Star game practices:

"If you base things on talking to the players on the West squad, Bastrop, La. wide out Rueben Randle will end up at LSU over Alabama in the end. However, the nation's No. 1 player has his official visit set to 'Bama for Jan. 16, the same weekend that West quarterback and Tide commitment A.J. McCarron will be visiting."

Didn't he also say that this year's class lacks an "elite receiver like last year"? How does that even make sense when a receiver is the top player on your rankings?

Been lurking here for years. Had to make my first post because your post cracked me up. What the heck made you start covering up half his face in the first place....? Hilarious.

    His face does look photoshopped.

    Pretty wicked in my book.
