    Re: Rueben Randle

    I cant agree with this.

Julio Jones had 65ypg this year dispite double coverage and also lots of bracket coverage. I'm sure that everyone can agree that he will have even more yards next year.

Mike McCoy, who was supposed to step up this year and do decent things, only had a mere 191 yards in 7 games. Bust.

Marquis Maze and Darius Hanks have shown that they can be more effective but after all, they are just a RSF and true sophomore.

Brad Smelley will likely take over the reigns for Nick Walker at recieving TE. He had 91 yards on 6 catches (only in 5 games). Another freshman.

To have a guy like Randall (who everyone is talking can contribute right away-similar to Julio) opposite with those young guys in the slot and at TE says something about next year, but more importantly years to come.

Dispite what you think, the passing game was chopped into having plays that JPW can make efficiently and limit mistakes--because we all know he's prone to that. The passing game will open up a bit after he's gone.

Does that mean Randle will or wont come? No...I hope he does...but only he knows where he wants to go. We will see next year if he lives up to the hype.

We just don't expect a green QB to come in and light it up. We'll see.

That's a nice mantra. Aubies could say the same thing about Chizick.

Neither were these guys before the season...

I'm not laughing so much at the actual hire...as I am the implosion and meltdown of their fanbase.

Also, the fact that the trustees and former coaches run everything and the AD and president Gogue are puppets.

Tha actual hire may work out. Its doubtful because the leash will be entirely too short for him to work with IMO.

    So...

Greg McElroy of Texas is currently in his third year at Bama, and he will be the starting QB next year as a 4th-year redshirt junior. He is the guy that had the beautiful TD pass at the end of the Auburn game. He was a Rivals 3-star/#11 pro-style QB, Scout 3-star/#37 QB, and ESPN ranked him as the #24 QB. He backed up Chase Daniel in high school, and as a senior--his first year as a starter--he led his team to a 16-0 record and the 5A State Championship (he was MVP of the title game). He was named Texas 5A Player of the Year and his 56 TD passes are second in Texas high school history behind only Graham Harrell.

Star Jackson of Florida is currently in his first year at Bama. He was a Rivals 4-star/#5 pro-style QB, Scout 4-star/#11 QB, and ESPN ranked him as the #22 QB. He was named the Lou Groza Player of the Year, South Florida Sun-Sentinel's 6A-5A-4A Player of the Year, Palm Beach Post's Offensive Player of the Year, US Army All-American, etc. ESPN's scouting report says: "We are not sure he won't be recruited more as an athlete than QB," and that he is a "little bit of a project" as a QB (LINK)

AJ McCarron of Alabama is a commit for the 2009 class, a Rivals 4-star/#5 pro-style QB, a Scout 4-star/#14 QB, and ESPN ranks him as the #37 QB.

He appears to be "heads above the rest", doesn't he?

I believe he would "stick his neck out on the line" for the team.
