I don't understand why people think OU is just now becoming a player. I got news for you guys, they've been a player for a while now. I talk to Emmitt Randle every week and for the past 3 months he's been talking about OU and how much he loved the visit there. They're definitely our biggest competition and deservedly so. And if you guys think that his dad's feelings on the matter are not going to come into play then you're crazy. Look, I'm a worried about this situation but I still think come NSD he's gonna sign with LSU. But that's no given no matter what all the other experts think.
Yup! Stoops was in Bastrop about two weeks ago. Trust me OU is not going quietly into the night on this one. They know they've got a real shot at this kid.
And judging by aaron's comments, his dad is the king of the household. If he makes a decision, he makes sure RR knows about it. I don't think hes trying to take control or anything, hes trying to protect his son. Big difference. But at some point you have to just go with what the rest of your family want. If you're the only one at odds or even thinks LSU lied...then show a little maturity and let your son do what he wants. I always wondered why nobody talked about OU after Bradford decided to stay. I thought they'd be a bigger player than anyone gave credit to...
Agreed. His dad made it clear to me that it was Reuben's decision not his. His job is to protect his son and give him the best opportunity to be successful. Although I think its pretty difficult to give someone your opinion without persuading them in some way.
I think several recent posters are referring to OU just getting in the mix, but I assure you there are many references to OU being a serious contender for some time amongst the 1500+ posts. And, certainly his dad will have a significant influence. In the end, I bet he goes with LSU, though.
Yeah, but alot of the posts have the tone as though OU was somehow slipping in the back door so to speak. Not the case. From what I can see about the whole recruiting game its almost like playing poker, you don't push all your chips into the center of the table on the first hand.
I just hope he signs with us tomorrow. I think if they delay his decision, that is worse for LSU because it means RR is getting serious doubts. I don't think he'd go straight into signing OU tomorrow just because his dad wanted him to, he'd have to think about it a little. That is assuming hes been all LSU as stated... I know once this drama is over, I'm not going to follow LSU recruiting half as much this season. I'm going to cancel my Scout/Rivals subscriptions.
