Let me clarify, not my words...my bosses words. I can tell you for sure his information comes from Alabama coaches, not any internet rumor or message board. They guy can barely read his freakin email but he is stuffed so far up the gumps azz he knows what time of day each coach is taking a crap. He first mentioned this to me a while back, before Christmas I think, but I never mentioned it here until yesterday. Bhelm answered and told me he didnt think there was anything to it. I just figured Randles family was telling the gump coaches that to make them feel good. After what's come out today though its sounds like there was some truth to it but the gump coaches were told it was resolved. This is still bizarre!
Interesting that his father would mention this 24 hrs before signing. They sure did not sound unhappy during his visit or thereafter. I guess the coaches told him in the last day. Suicide watch has no doubt begun...
:geaux: For the most part I'd call BS on this deal. Just doesn't seem koesher that competing against DLo would become such a big issue here the day before NSD. If that was an issue why didn't something come out on it before now? If there were any legs to that it would have come out long ago. I don't think it is an issue but if it is, I agree with Mastermind that if he's afraid of a little competion LSU don't need him. If he's as good as advertised he'll get his shot and will see the field this season. Plus, I don't think Miles is one to guarantee playing time to anyone. He may guarantee a fair chance to compete for PT and that's about it. RR will earn PT like anyone else and I'm sure he's aware of that. Miles wouldn't lie about PT IMO. That hasn't been his history in the past and I don't see him starting now. Maybe something else is going on here and the competition thing is cover for it. Maybe somebody is just stirring the pot and jerking chains at the 11th hour. While no one knows for sure and won't until tomorrow, the world ain't gonna come to an end if RR goes elsewhere. The Tigers will be just fine with or without RR. :LSU231:
You are definitely right, Like the Dude said, he had a great visit, from everyones standpoint he was all LSU, now a day before NSD, his father comes out with this?
Knowing Reuben's dad, if he feels they lied to him then that's pretty much it IMO. He's not going to give LSU his vote of confidence to Reuben. I'll be glad when this over with.
Interesting – posts talking about how it sounds like this and it sounds like that – like The Dude says – reports of reports, etc, etc. and etc. You really hear what you want to hear. Trust me on one thing, if sees a transcript of the entire interview it would probably come across very different. Whoever called BS gets my vote. ********************************** “Sin, sin, sin, you’re all sinners and your all going to perdition” View attachment 11725
I don't believe Randle was told he would compete for the #2 slot, no matter what Daddy said. The only way this could be misconstrued, is the time period before Lafell announced he is coming back. Even then, how stupid do you have to be to think a 2 year letterman is gonna lose his job to you. And TT was the #1 WR in the country himself when recruited. And to the theory that dad is trying to soften the blow of leaving the state, how has he done that? Either our coaches lost the #1 recruit in the state, or they lied to him? Thanks for making things softer for us. Maybe he is making an excuse for RR to leave La, but I still call bs on it, no matter where he goes.
I'll tell you this I'll be talking to someone who is very close to the situation and I'll try and drop the skinny on it later.
Oh well, dissapointing but it is what it is. LSU's class will still be awesome this year. Fact is we (if this proves out) we lost (again) the number 1 recruit in Louisiana but gained the number 1 in Texas. Not a bad trade I guess. next........
