Maybe so, but his vision and athleticism will get him a decent shot. He'll see plenty of short passes and kickoff/punt returns. Too good athletically to not get a chance. It's up to him to make the most of it.

He is certainly more athletic than anyone that LSU has playing QB, but I am fairly sure he'll run in the low 4.6's at the combine and measure around 6'0".

He's a similar athlete to Josh Reed except not having any of the sharp route running and hands . Just not seeing what the NFL would see in this guy...

White definitely doesnt run a 4.6. He is probably a upper 4.4. Mid 4.5 at worese. He is very quick with good speed. He is extremely athletic.

When I tried to tell you guys this I was shot down. I know I'm a newbie and you guys have been at this for a while, but this particular kid, I know about. Right now, his focus is on the Superdome and playing for another state title on December 13. He hasn't even committed to an all-star game because of this, but I'm pretty sure he'll play in one unless he decides to graduate early (which he can).

So here's a bit of information that can be released now that it's no longer a factor. Everyone spent so much time harping on Miami and Bama, but forgot about Michigan. Good thing Big Blue Nation isn't treating Coach Rodriguez to well up there. A stable situation could've been dangerous. Don't forget, he did pretty well at West Virginia on the talents of an athletic QB from the South, who just so happened to play WR before he played QB in high school, and will likely play WR as a pro. Rodriguez also coached his position coach from 2007 while he was at Tulane. There may have been a connection there...

From what I remember you said he wants a shot to play exclusively at QB and that position is his 1st love and that would influence his decision on which school he chooses. Many disagreed with that for good reason. RR understands where he will be the most successful in college and the NFL one day. Miles made a statement saying he would get looks in the backfield to showcase his talents all over the field but I still do not see him being a full time QB. I am sure he understands that as well.

UM is not a factor. He will be at LSU and Bama will still push him playing along side with Julio but not win out. Distance has been the major factor from the beginning hence the reason I was never worried about Miami regardless of his brother's love for the U.

:dis: Distance is not a major factor. The only reason distance matters at all is because his folks have never had to not see him play, but it's going to happen regardless. They can't make every road (or home) game for any college he attends, unlike high school. They understand that it's time for him to spread his wings, so distance does not figure into the equation as a major factor at all.

Saying he wants a chance to play QB does not equal him wanting to play QB full-time. If he wanted, and received a chance to play it full-time, then of course he would. But he knows WR will most likely butter his bread before QB will...doesn't mean he doesn't want a shot at succeeding. Basically saying, I can play WR with my eyes closed...but maybe I want the challenge of playing QB. He's put up some good numbers this year for a team that has noone near his caliber playing WR.

To type like you know so much, you don't really know much ON THIS ONE. I'm sure you have your insiders and connections, but nothing beats the horse's mouth. With all due respect, I would never challenge your knowledge on other recruits. Just this one...

And I hope and pray he becomes a Tiger. But I also realize nothing is set in stone yet. We think about this way more than he does. That says mountains about his focus doesn't it? Most recruits would either be eating it all up or hating every minute of it, but he honestly tunes it out...until late Saturday and early Sunday when the almighty Bradshaw lets him rest for a little while.:rofl:

4.6? Really? I would figure he hasn't run 4.6 since junior high, lol.

I'd say more Early Doucet than Josh Reed. Pat White has a future as an Antwaan Randle-El type.

I have to admit that I don't feel as good about this as I once did. I don't tend to worry too much about individual recruits though - I focus on the class as a whole.

IMO (not based on anything but a guess), if Benton actually qualifies & gets in school in January that could help us lock him up.

I agree, I dont think he is at all a lock. I think he ends up at LSU but its far from over.
