FWIW, 4-star WR Cameron Kenney gave his verbal to OU yesterday.

Don't think that really matters to him but cool I guess.

I want his dad to come outright and say LSU is the leader so we can end the drama to NSD. Seems so long right now...:LSU231:

Troye Randle, the mother of Bastrop star Rueben Randle, said the family’s visit to Baton Rouge went well. But she doubts her son will choose a college before Feb. 4, National Signing Day.

“Nothing has changed,” Troye Randle said. “He’s still keeping his options open and looking. He’s made good, solid decisions so far. Knowing him, I think that will continue.”

Randle’s visit highlighted a busy recruiting weekend for LSU. But it appears Logan was the only commitment.

Meanwhile, Randle, the state’s top commitment, is scheduled to visit Auburn this weekend. He had already made visits to Oklahoma and Alabama, perceived as LSU’s stiffest challengers.

“I think it’s a go,” Troye Randle said of the Auburn visit, “but we’ll have to see. I know it’s planned.”

You left out an important point about Kenney. He is a JC player so you would expect that they are signing him with the intention of playing him soon. I think this is worth mentioning because it could affect Randle more than a WR that has to develop or redshirt.

    Re: Rueben Randle

We jokingly discussed going over and asking him if he wanted us to pray with him about his future career as a Tiger.

OT: We did speak to Mr. Shepard. He was a really nice guy, gave one of my friends a man-hug. Told us he appreciated what we were doing. Seemed a little tipsy but the responsible one of his group. Got away from the bars at closing time and left before the crowds got heavy.

    Randle gets tour of Capitol

The state’s top football prospect got a personal tour of the State Capitol recently from the governor’s chief of staff.

Timmy Teepell, Gov. Bobby Jindal’s top aide, confirmed Tuesday that he met with Rueben Randle.

Randle — a Bastrop High School student who Rivals.com lists as the second-best high school senior in the country — was in town this past weekend for his official visit to LSU.

The governor did not meet with the recruit.

Teepell said, “I gave him a tour and told him some great stories.”

Teepell said he met with Randle Friday at LSU’s request.

Randle is expected to announce on Feb. 4 which college he will attend.

LSU, Alabama and Oklahoma are reportedly in the running.

Teepell said there is a paid internship slot in the Governor’s Office for a student-athlete typically selected by LSU football coach Les Miles.

Teepell said the slot is open but that he did not offer it to Randle.

Teepell said the nation’s top wide receiver prospect did not let slip where he plans to play college football.

Michael Bonnette, LSU’s sports information director, did not immediately return a call for comment.

Well I know if I were being recruited, a tour of the state capitol would just tip me right over the edge. Who will give the Alabama State Capitol tour, Auburn or bama?
